Forget adding time, entire programs are now getting cut

La Salle is cutting 7 sports:

"The Philadelphia-based university sliced men's baseball, swimming and diving, tennis and water polo. It also cut women's softball, volleyball and tennis. The university announced the move in an open letter on its website."

Citing the impact of COVID-19 and the Atlantic 10 conference, La Salle announced it would cut seven sports at the end of the academic year.

Minnesota is paring down non-revenue participants. My guess is they had an excess on the women's side from Title IX and have decided to come back to even. What this means for Minnesota and probably every school going forward in the non-revenue arena is kids that can participate in all track related sports will be more valuable as they can count as 1 head for all 3.

Gophers planning to cut 41 women athletes in addition to pending men's cuts

In addition to terminating three men's teams, the Gophers athletics department also plans smaller rosters for eight women's and two men's teams, according to data obtained by the Star Tribune.
