As I was soaking in the atmosphere in Hinkle - tied at the half - I was thinking to myself: There is NO WAY that SLU gives the team this kind of support next year. Imagine going from sold-out arenas of RABID FANS for 2 months to where they are headed...

But I’ve maintained that once committed they will raise the needed funds to keep everyone but maybe Conwell and Conwell ain’t going with him to SLU anyway (I don’t think anyway).

As for facilities - yep the practice facility / Hulman Center has been an on going issue and concern. It’s something Indiana State needs to address if they want to be serious about hoops in the future.

How about at least this... they came out with that grand plan for all the facilities football stadium included. put a price tag on each part and a price tag of what it would cost to move forward. im sure whatever the price was then is triple now.

I am sorry I have held this in till today, but this Golly Gee thank you coach for this year needs to stop with the SLU press conference. He did nothing more than his job which was to win basketball games. IF he wants to treat ISU as a stepping stone then we need to do the same. We need to use him as a stepping stone to a better coach and not settle for just doing the easiest path of least resistance which is go the Interim with Graves. Schertz played boosters, doners and fans at ISU to the end leading people on and on with fake hope till last night.

I was literally thinking the exact same thing. No way, they get the same support. I hope Schertz enjoys being the 3rd fiddle to the Cardinals and the Blues.

They literally said it's "breaking news", he "is leaving", and then said they learned early this morning that he is "expected" to be the next coach at SLU. I'm not saying it's not a done deal. We all expect it to be. But they are STILL reporting off of the same story they posted to their website early this morning.

I continue to wait until he utters the words from his mouth. And he needs to have the balls to utter the words from his mouth. Until then, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. I think Dr. Chaifetz (psychology by the way) and son are definitely putting the media screws to him right now.

If he gets 3-4 players too, I may just give up college bball. It’s painful to say I’d rather watch Conwell at IU
 
Well, I read that as they can't say that he "is the coach of SLU" because they haven't confirmed it - but ISU has confirmed that he IS leaving ISU: "Breaking News out of Indiana State University"
 
I will say...if he turns down SLU he will be villified in SLU, but he will become a GOD in the whole state of Indiana.
