Some facts: great defensive lineman just don't show up in the box score. If a guy attracts attention and allows a guy like Archie to run free into the backfield, it's solid.
Secondly, I am greatly impressed with Spencer he does the little things right (route running, blocking, adjusts to the ball while it's in the air) he is going to be huge for us.

Fair enough, I wasn't personally debating those - just give the guy a break. The defense hasn't played as well as I would have expected and he was finding a player that "statistically" hasn't played as well as some maybe would have expected.

Oh yeah I was just explaining that...our scheme really favors a defensive lineman not showing up in the box score.

The defense played very well at Western Kentucky....

And Obeseki is getting the Dwight Freeney treatment....double team blocks....running plays away from him.....if anybody has taken the time to really watch Big Ben out there, he's playing his butt off....dont go by mere stats....watch the game....and see what he's doing.....watch his impact on the game...there are no stats for impact....once Saturday night, in the second half, he had his helmet knocked off but continued to play and still almost made the tackle...Ben was running around out there with no helmet playing full out.....

Obeseki was getting a pretty good pass rush going from outside, causing the SDSU quarterback to step up in the pocket....we had guys in the QB's face all night, just didn't bring him down....Rod Hardy was held a couple of times....but no calls.....

Yes, the defense needs to do a better job of closing things out...but when the game was on the line...and big plays needed to be made...they did step up.....

They had a good o line, their blocking scheme was well thought out. They have a good hc.

Sometimes you just gave to tip your cap to the other team. it's not always the case that we do something wrong, but just that the other athlete makes a superior play.

I totally agree, I don't know how many times Fouch was sacked last night, but I think it was a lot more than any other game ISU has played this year, their pass rush was pretty good, esp. in that 1st half.
