Bally #50

The JSW Level
With all do respect to Elvis, the overused expression works here. I have been much less active on Sycamore Pride the past few months and I thought I needed to explain what is going on here, as I am listed as a moderator and have been woefully inadequate in that responsibility. I am not missing in action either, but my time has been focused on some health issues and I wanted to fill you in on it.

Two days after Homecoming (the timing was no accident), I had a large tumor removed from behind my knee and unfortunately, it was found, not surprisingly, to be malignant. I have been diagnosed with a rare form of skin cancer and tomorrow I will have another surgery to make sure that all has been removed. The surgery involves a skin graft and several procedures to make sure it has not spread. I told Boda a few weeks ago that I was dealing with this but most of you are not aware of my situation. I didn't want anyone thinking that I am losing interest in Sycamore Pride or Indiana State but until I get thru the recovery of this surgery and complete my treatments (likely to be radiation), I simply cannot be as active on here as I have been in the past.

As I tell anyone who asks, this is NOT a death sentence and I fully expect a full recovery and other than a possible limp, I hope to be 100%. If the treatments don't bother me too much, I hope to be at 1-2 basketball games at Hulman Center before the end of the year. I hope you understand why I will be not as frequent on here for a month or so and I hope you know I will be looking in often, just not contributing as much.

Thanks for understanding. GO TREES~

No explanation needed Bob. We are here to support you in any way needed--just let us know. It must be a bad year for the OFC health wise. I had cataract surgery yesterday and a cardiac issue in August. We shall rise again my friend. March On Sycamores!

Hang loose, El Roberto...I'm sure that Lynn & the ol' ISU cheer squad (among others - fraternal friend & foe) have you in their prayers!

Agree SSM...kinda... Bally if you are going to Hux Center for treatment I can tell you that my wife has just completed the Chemo, Surgery, and Radiation program there and I am most impressed with the results, and manner they performed. They have progressed into a very good option for treatment like you need.

get well soon Bob - your opinion has been missed!

Kinda... :)

Heres to you Bally , will be thinking of you and have a couple cold ones for you . But really your opinion is one of the ones I appreciate the most here so Hurry back .

Does anyone else on here think that Bally is not giving 100% to the team and needs to be benched. Hey. I'm just kidding. Get well soon! God bless you!

Your prayers and well-wishes are much appreciated. On day 5 after surgery, I am home for the 2nd day and am recovering. I am only able to move around with the aid of a walker and most of the time, am wearing a full leg immobilizer so getting around is tough. My three incisions are healing well but the main area of concentration is larger and a tad more painful than my October surgery. I'll get by but it will take longer than I had thought. I had hoped to get to 1-2 games in the next couple of weeks but it doesn't look likely right now. Cheer them on for me.

Just a side note, The Stacked Pickle (run by ISU hardcore Jeff Raissle) is inviting ISU fans to come up for the game tonight. The bar is on Old Meridian in Carmel. We had a great crowd and a great time when we were there for the NDU-ISU game. I'd be there if I could. GO TREES.

Talk to BankShot about this, he fully understands what your going through. Of course he didn't just have a major surgery so you have an excuse, he does not.

...Coming from a man that KNOWS his "excuses," even going to the extreme of having a "Google Implant Chip" for faster recall!:yo:

Can't wait for the "Union Hospital Center of Excusological Therapy" to open S. of I-70, where it'll be CENTRALLY located and convenient to users!:shocked2:
