Let me first apologize to any and everyone who has ever complained about the HC ticket office. Personally I have limited dealings with them and on the rare occasion that I have had to deal with them I haven't had much of a problem. Now my complaint:

Someone help me out here, women play at home tonight right? 7:05 start?

Men play at home tomorrow afternoon right? 1:05 start?

So you would think that if a fan (myself) went to the ticket office today at say, 3:30 that the ticket office would be open right? In my case I needed to pick up 4 tickets with a voucher that came with a package I bought at a silent auction a few months ago.

That's right, you guessed it, (by now your shaking your head) the ticket office was closed, lights off, doors locked, CLOSED!

Oh and I wasn't the only one walking up the ticket office, two other folks were trying to do the same thing as me. Nice work Hulman Center and Indiana State - sorry but Indiana State this is a direct reflection of you all and it's horrible management. You all have a bleeping game tonight! You know what became wrong with the world along time ago? People don't want to work to make money, they just expect the money to show up in the damn bank account one day and la de freakin da how in the hell did that happen? Hey dad is that Paris Hilton over their? You got a job to do people, do it!

Let me answer the money question, you know the reason that money ends up in the bank account every 2 weeks? People like me, the two other folks today walking up to the ticket office window and every person on this forum that has at some point bought a ticket to watch Indiana State athletics. You got people on here that invest hell of a lot more money into Indiana State than I - but I will be damned if it should matter what school your cheering for or how much money you give. Stop taking every person that walks in the door of the Hulman Center for granted - learn some basic customer service and NO being closed 3 hours prior to a game on a Friday (non-holiday) is not good customer service. In fact (I think maybe it needs spelled out for them) it's horrible customer service.

Happy New Year! Moving On!

Not done...

Let me give you an example, I work in healthcare ok... So what if a hospital decides to close it's ER today because it expects an influx of patients on New Years Eve and New Years - were just going to close shop today, we will open back up tomorrow.

WHO DOES BUSINESS LIKE THIS? What the hell are ya all thinking? Yeah the consequence of closing a hospital ER is a little more drastic than me not getting my tickets. But just like it's a fact of life that people die in hospitals on holidays, it's a fact of life that Sycamore fans will go to the ticket office on game day or the day before game day to pick-up tickets, they just will. And why will they do it Indiana State? Because they want to avoid long lines on game day in the rare occasion that anyone (outside of a season ticket holder) decides to even go to the damn game.

Do Dr. Bradley and RP know how dysfunctional the Hulman Center ticket office is? Maybe more importantly do they care? If they know and don't get it fixed, well, that speaks volumes. I can hardly believe they are aware of the problems there and don't care. It may be beyond RP's control; if so the whole system needs an overhaul. I suggest an email to each SSOM that details what you stated here. Or perhaps it should go to the person in charge of the ticket office with copies to RP, Dr. B., the Statesman and the Tribune Star.

Or you could vent here. Both paths of action will most likely accomplish the same outcome.

Likely all will be done...

For starters I am going to go up to the ticket office at 6:00, before I go to the Pizza Hut Classic and I am going to pick up my 4 free tickets. I have a voucher for 4 that is part of a package that I purchased at a silent auction a few months ago. After I pick up the tickets (you see I am going to get what I came for, then let emm have it) I am going to ask for a manager - or who ever claims to be in charge and I am going to let them have it.

Now I don't expect that they will give two shits - quite obviously they don't. After that I will probably send an e-mail or something - my guess is that this will be seen. The athletic department and University alike have people that frequent this forum, if they are not smart enough to see this and pass it on then they should probably re-read this entire thread because they missed the point.

I am not a complainer, in fact I am the anti-complainer, it's not my game - I hate it, I laugh at it, I don't understand it. But it's effected me today, I finally feel as if I have something to complain about - not happy about it!

And you know what, I've finally figured it out! Now we all know why WTWO shows home games on local TV. They are saving 100's of people the heart ache of having to deal with incompetent people. So today WTWO I applaud you, thank you for helping so many out!

Just as an fyi....the university is closed between Christmas and New Years... Hulman Center is probably closed as much of that time as they can.

Not an excuse, just stating s fact.

And that is true because that was one of the excuses they gave me. Fact is, today is not a holiday and today also happens to be a game day. Unacceptable!

Care to share their other excuses? I'll either get a good laugh or my BP will go up a few points if you do.

Well basically that I could order tickets online or by phone through ticket master. When I informed her that I had a voucher that I bought 2 months ago at a silent auction to use she actually let me know that I had 2 months to get the tickets then - I stopped her mid sentence and let her know I wasn't done talking that she needed to listen. Other than that dumb ass remark she remained pretty calm and listened to my concerns. I'm satisfied with how it went, still not over it though.

That's worth a laugh.

Hey SSOM...affected you today, the next day, and the day after that and so forth.......you keep this weird 6:00 o'clock Ground Hog Day thing up, and it's going to get real freaky in The Valley.

As matter of fact, one more 6:00 o'clock reference in one of your posts, and we're all going to start calling you Phil "SSOM" Connors, Channel Two Weather reporter, extrodinaire.

Hopefully one day in the distant future, everyone who works in the HC Box Office turns into Nancy Taylor, from Lincoln High School....and we all score (with tickets) when we're supposed to...and the Nancy Taylors in the HC Box Office treat each one of us with as much enthusiasm and excitement, as she does with Phil Connors.

Chill out, Dawg...it's only a "game.":imslow:

I love when I go in there and want to buy lower level seats and they tell that they don't have any. And then I'll sit there during the game and see all those empty seats where so many other people could be sitting. But the ticket office won't sell those tickets for some unknown reason.

Landurs they are either season ticket holders or seats for sponsors

They should still sell them, nobody ever sits in them. The lower level is hardly ever near full and it looks terrible when you watch them on TV and the lower lever is empty.

Landrus they are sold but not being used. Just because a seat is empty does not mean it is not sold.

Are people in TH that lazy? They go out and buy tickets and then don't even use them. If you aren't going to use them, then give them away to other fans or something.

Misplaces anger

Since ISU is CLOSED for the week there is no money being paid to workers during that week and they should not be expected to work for free ... I believe "she" may request change but she has no power to authorize pay for herself or others. This is done above her pay grade. I, too, have been very frustrated at times but I also know that there are decisions being made above her level. ISU would have to "PAY" her and others to keep the ticket office open ... my dealings with her have been positive but that does not mean I have not often left very frustrated. I at time have gotten wrong information from "STUDENTS" working in the ticket office. But I see many different people in that "TICKET OPFFICE" and so with constant change and training more mistakes will be made. I do not believe a sufficient budget has been set aside to pay multiple full time workers ...I truly believe the problem stems from it not being made a priority at Level(s) above "SHE." ... I have no inside information and I could be wrong but I strongly believe budgeting and decision making above her pay grade is the more major issue ....
Related to this because of the policy of "CLOSING THE ENTIRE UNIVERSITY" for the holidays many are frustrated in several ways ... I recently had an important staff benefits question but when I sent my question to the relevant person I got an automated response that stated "University is closed until Jan.3". But that is not the most frustrating story.
Several years ago and quite accidentally I was able to strike up a relationship with the owner.CEO of QUE Corporation ..., they made a bundle with texts on learning LOTUS 123 and the like. He stated he would make a large donation to ISU at the end of the year and his decision was tax related. I had shown him around the university and talked with him about some programs. He subsequently called me and told me he became quite frustrated and made a large donation to INDIANA UNIVERSITY ...he made a couple of calls but got the CLOSED UNIVERSITY response and became frustrated and was not about to waste his time and decided to donate to Indiana University ... I was livid at the outcome but could not blame him.
I have said enough!!!

Actually you have said too much. The lady in charge of the ticket office is a joke that is way past the funny stage anymore. Don't make excuses for her please. They pay her $60+ annual................she needs to be replaced.
