Who all here tailgates prior to games?

I'm a rookie... Haven't before but I will be this year. Actually I plan on taking Aug 27th off so I can do it for the first game. When I went to the game last year they had guards directing people to park. Do you need a special pass or something to park elsewhere in the lot and tailgate?

I did at 10 of the 12 games last year, although 2 of the away games I was by myself. At home, near the southwest corner by some shade trees--red grill, lots of meat and beer. I look forward to more of the same this year, and to celebrate some wins also!

Check your PMs.

Additionally, we should get a group of folks from here to start tailgating religiously, or at least as much as possible. I'm wondering if it would be possible to get a certain section reserved by ISU?

Country, Even though they try to direct you to certain places when you park, you can pretty much go wherever you want--just tell them you're meeting someone. I choose the SW corner for several reasons: 1. It's close to the entrances and I have brought my Dad who is 83 and we can use the elevator. 2. It's close to the locker room for meeting the kids after the game. 3. It's close enough to run out at halftime to grab a cold one and listen to the radio.

I'm not sure if ISU would reserve areas for anyone, other than the "priority" spots in the parking lot near the locker room for the Varsity Club donors. Anywhere out there is a great place to tailgate--it's all grass, it's free, and it's close. What's not to like?? Stop by. I'll be the guy in either a black van or a silver sedan with Illinois plates and a beer in my hand.

Would definitely be interested. I also responded to your PM.

Yeah I think that would be very cool - sycamorefootball.com tailgate party! How sweet would this concept be? I really like the idea...

Would anyone be interested in tailgating at the Cross Country course before the Pre Nats and Nats??? lol kidding kidding - just wanted to get a reaction!

No reason we couldn't have tailgate party before a meet. We could be pioneers in that area of tailgating.

Let's do it then! Ha, I know that a web site "flotrack.com" which covers the meet online has tailgated in the past - maybe we could partner with them! How cool would that be! They were/are trying to bring tailgating to Cross Country. It would be a heck of a good time! lol

I would def be down for a football tailgate. I know that there is a push to get some of the fraternities out there to tailgate too. I'm also pretty sure my fraternity will be doing at least a few tailgates. Hopefully we can work something out. I always wished that there was a huge group of people outside the stadium before football games playing corn hole, grilling out, and drinkin beer. I mean come on, who doesn't like that idea?

A tailgate for the track and x-country meets--interesting concept, although I'm not sure I could do the grilled veggies and gatorade healthy living thing. Or the pasta. I think a new facility is in order for these teams, making sure to include enough of a grassy area around the track and the stands for the tailgating. Just yanking your chain Morgan, I think tailgaiting is a great pre-game, pre-meet...for any sport.

Yeah yeah yeah - I hear you Cross Country the butt of every joke.. lol Don't you think for a second that "runners" can't put em down with the best of them! Trust me - we are heavy hitters! lol Gatorade is banned from Tailgating parties - the only thing we would use the coolers for is jungle juice... aha

Football Tailgating

It would be great to see more of the fans out there before and after the games. Tailgated at every game last year (we were kinda lonely at a couple of the away games). More of the players' families are beginning to join in on the fun. We are the one's with the RV that has the Sycamore logo on the sides. Arrive around 8 for the home games, so come on by. The coffee's hot..Beer's cold..and haven't had too many complaints about the food (no one has died yet). It would really mean a lot to these kids to see some more butts in the bleachers.

We were at the SEMO game and saw an RV just outside the fence from the endzone... Was that you? I rememeber looking over from the stands and admiring the set up.

i am efforting.....

to get tailgating space/or a tent...for three groups....the isu football alumni....players parents/families.....and for this website...but i want to make one thing thing clear...i am not promising anything....i have asked...and am awaiting a answer....

Sounds good. I'm hoping to have a schedule for my boy's football games -- 3rd grade football -- and hoping his games are on week nights this year. Then I'll know which games I can attend for sure.
