and the shockers were getting crushed 10-0 in the seventh inning. nebraska scored six runs in the second inning. stephenson was not a happy camper. neither was kemnitz. but i loved every second of it. lol.

indiana state did get some mention during the game telecast...they showed the current mvc standings.....

Final score, Nebraska 14-0 over the Shockers who got just two hits in the game played at Lincoln. Watch for replays on CBS College Sports network.

love it, love it, love it.....lol...

in all my years of being around mvc baseball, i had never seen the wheatshockers get pounded like that....and the looks on the faces of mean gene and his cohort kemnitz were priceless....lol.....

i also saw that we-cheat-um state also had a 6-8 first baseman...wow....lol.....
 
Wichita State has been outscored 28-0 in their last three trips to Lincoln! Gene Stephenson said that if they couldn't get a run before the game was over, maybe they shouldn't come back to Lincoln again! He said that with a wry smile. Wichita State is a good team despite their woes in Lincoln...we have to be ready for the toughest series of the season this weekend.
 
TJ, I'm glad you loved every second of your fellow conference member getting eaten alive by a crappy Big 12 team. It'll make your series win this weekend over WSU even less meaningful.

But then again, when you've been on the top for so long, you get used to the hate. Now I know what Duke feels like.

Actually, if you knew how to comprehend basic English, my post was directed at Valley harmony in the nonconference, so my name holds true. Root against WSU as much as you want in conference play. That makes sense. What doesn't make sense is rooting for your conference's highest RPI team to tank to a crappy Nebraska team.

But who cares right? This conference sucks anyways. WSU is tired of carrying it. So nevermind what I said. Root against them whenever, wherever.

my joy at seeing wichita state get beat.....

is due totally to the arrogance of its head coach and pitching coach.....a large segment of their fans.....i've been to we-cheat-um state plenty of times...have heard the language used against opposing teams and coaches...my comments against the wheatshockers are very mild in comparison......

i well remember the sycamores playing at eck field and the shockers third baseman making a very good defensive play...former isu coach bob warn leaned over and told the kid...hey, nice play...the kid turned to bob and said, and i quote..."f--k you"......yeah, that's the sportmanship we like in the mvc....

or the time the wichita state bench was shouting racial comments to an african-american indiana state pitcher...with the n-word......the isu pitcher always had great control..but he hit two consecutive wsu players on the leg....isu coach bob warn went out and asked him what was the matter...when warn got out there to the mound, he could hear the wsu players shouting the n-word at his pitcher.....

and then there was the time that the sycamores beat wsu in wichita during the missouri valley conference tournament...eric wedge was thrown out at the plate..out by a mile....mean gene knew he was out....but he sent kemnitz out to argue...and argue....and argue....and argue....and argue.....we sat in the isu dugout...and laughed...and laughed...and laughed....and laughed....

but the worst came when the wichita state pitcher beaned the evansville player.....in the head......

that's why we take joy in seeing the shockers get their hands handed to them.....if wsu played with and their fans showed just a modicum of class once in while....then it might be different.....

I don't believe 90% of anything you've posted. I must laugh if you think what happens at WSU to be "bad". Try going to a Florida State or Oklahoma State or Arizona State game as a visitor. You've seen nothing. The fact is at Indiana State, you're only used to 50 fans/game at the park and don't have the insight of what happens at top-tier programs. It's simply ignorance. It's not your fault.

Perhaps you have forgotten the series in the mid-90's where lovely Sycamore fans in Terre Haute heckled a black WSU player named Casey Davis, yelling out racial slurs, and dumping beer in holes in the dugout.

Valley, 50 is pushing it! We might average 45!! lol Which I dont understand why people dont support baseball. 3 former ISU players in the Majors, about 10 in the Minors, and we finished 2nd in the conference last year and are playing pretty good ball again this year. Terre Haute isn't a good baseball community!

Is it even marketed to the student body at all? I can't ever recall ever seeing anything about the baseball team when I was on campus.
 
The only thing I know is the lil sign area that show the Sycamore home events. Other than that nothing. How's come there isn't a poster for the baseball team? Football, womens and mens basketball, and volleyball had one. Ohhhh I get it, I guess teams who aren't succesful get to be promoted throughtout the campus, but teams who do win don't get :censored:

Baseball in general is failing...I love the sport but attendance is falling everywhere....
 
Well I was watching the Cardinals game last night and they did say their Spring Training attendence was up 1,000 this year. So not everywhere, but I do know what you mean. How the hell does Toronto still have a team? It looks like there is about 2,000 ppl at their games
