Yet we have a presidential candidate who admits to grabbing women sexually (
Keep repeating that lie and someone may eventually believe it. That has been a fake news lie for 8 years now.
I suppose you have not kept up on all of the pay for play by Biden? I don't watch Fox either but the other mainstream news are
constant lies.

So is there anything the guy could do that you would actually hold him responsible for?
Like what? Great economy, no wars, decreased regulation.
I hold him responsible for not eliminating the Dept of Education and not cutting the fed budget by 25%.
Maybe next time.

So in other words, despite the moral outrage about the Olympics you have no moral standards with trump. Got it. Thanks for the clarification.

He can grab women without their permission, make fun of the handicapped, make fun of POWs, commit crimes, cheat on his wives multiple times, but it’s all good

But the second he puts on a wig or a dress, THEN he has lost your vote. Because that’s immoral. Not the other stuff though.

Ignorance can be bliss.

Still waiting for you to give me one thing he has done wrong since 2016.

Don’t disagree with this at all. Both parties have some very serious, difficult questions to answer.

I brought trump into this because I still don’t understand why people bring up morals and morality the guy always gets a pass.

You want to boycott the Olympics, fine by me. But help me understand your logic behind that. You boycott the Olympics because you deem the opening ceremony immoral but you don’t have a moral problem with trump’s criminal behavior, or his behavior towards women by admitting he assaults them, or cheating on his wife, etc. the list goes on. If anything shows how society is willing to accept behavior that just ten years ago was disqualifying it is this.

Help me understand how drag queens are so morally repugnant we should ban the Olympics but we can excuse trump and his behavior?

I could understand someone making the case they both are/were immoral but I don’t understand criticizing one and making excuses for the other.

And if the response is “Trump didn’t do any of this” or that it is all a “media lie”, just don’t even bother responding. At least have a little respect for other peoples’ intelligence than to recycle that garbage.

Thanks for the book suggestion. Always looking for new things to read.
You keep bringing up Trumps morals but you just brush aside Kamala's morals. When she was 29 years old she was sleeping with a 69 year old man(Willie Brown).

This is me.

It's breads and circuses. They (you can define who they are) have done a fantastic job at getting people focused on identity politics and shit that just doesn't matter while we're racing towards becoming Rome.

Believe US tax receipts to debt interest expense were single digits prior to 2022, shot to 10% in 2023, and are reported well past 25% in 2024. A recent news article said that some month's interest payments have been 75% of gross tax receipts. Meanwhile every 100 days we're adding 1 trillion more to the national debt. We're in a heap of fucking trouble and people want to worry about how people want to identify.

I know Republicans have been dragged for the idea that they will have to push retirement age, but for anyone that can do basic math, it is the harsh reality that social security is broke and there will not be money there in the future. Once the debt gets to a certain point, medicare will be up next or we'll just turn on the money printer which will further push the debt load.

As a side topic, if anyone is interested, check out Broken Money by Lyn Alden. Finished it a couple months ago.
The National debt and the way our elected officials spend money scares the hell out of me for my grandchildren.
Our most catastrophic problem and all they can talk about is the climate change hoax and the Supreme Court.

You're not getting a moral argument from me. Trump has done and will likely continue to do heinous shit just as Kamala has done and will continue to do to get ahead. They're literally two peas in a pod. I've long said that politicians and most biz folks that have made it "big" are egomaniacal narcissists that are willing to do whatever it takes to make that next buck, or grasp that next ounce of power. Shit, the day after Kamala replaced Joe, there was an effort launched to scrub the Internet of her negative history. Tech geeks save the day as usual thanks to the Wayback Machine.

I will say I believe the hush money case to be an utter witch hunt as there have been other documented cases of this where they were given lesser charges. I believe the only reason it was done was to give Biden an optics advantage and campaign talking point. In any other year (or person), they are getting pled down to misdemeanors and a slap on the wrist, told to make a charitable contribution to something in the local jurisdiction, etc. Also, usually the individuals that get charged are the lawyers/admins that do it on behalf of their clients a la Nixon/Watergate. We know damn well that Trump himself never touched any of this but his team sure as shit did it.

In any event, and if I had my druthers, RFK Jr. would be elected but unfortunately we all know there is no chance a third-party candidate can defeat either of the Red or Blue Kool-Aid machines.

Because it always seems to be the gop who wants to claim the sky is falling or the nation is on the road to hell when they see something like the opening ceremony, but never seem to hold the orange sun king accountable for his (lack of) morals.

Why is one immoral and cheating on your wife and sexually assaulting other women not?

Not by any means trying to say the Dems are without flaws or double talk, but if GOPs aren’t willing to call out trump for his moral failings they don’t get to go around crying foul in other places.

Climate change is a massive issue. Unfortunately, the large majority of those that champion it never point to a big part of the actual solution -- nuclear energy.

The very same people that get the press on climate change often roll out the Chernobyl or Three Mile Island nuclear FUD. The path to reducing the effects of climate change runs through nuclear energy. These same chucklefucks are the reason it has got so bad. Because of their anti-nuclear stance because we've lost decades of technology iteration had we invested heavily into nuclear power.

Thankfully there is a upswing of people that understand nuclear can be a key driver and we're seeing development in that area. In the coming years you'll likely see SMRs become very popular and as the technology matures, price should come down.

There's where we disagree. I'm 75 and I have seen no sign of climate change. I think it is a hoax.
I had an argument with my son-in-law so I looked up historical temps and precip in Carmel. No change over many decades.
If there is climate change, it's not in Indiana.

Climate change simply isn't about just your local temperature. Also, while a specific geographical location may not have any changes, the Earth's core/surface temp has risen. You're also talking about fractional changes that add up over time.

This has led to a plethora of issues -- more severe storms and increased drought are two that are easily observable. If you want anecdotal, living here in Vegas and visiting California a ton, I see and feel it. Hell, I couldn't go outside yesterday because the smoke from California wildfires were blown into the Vegas valley and we were under a smoke advisory. The weather changes have real world consequences, too. Look at all of the insurance companies that are now pulling up shop in California, Florida and other natural disaster areas.

But like I said, we could drastically slow down the effects by simply going heavy into nuclear power. It is the greenest, densest energy on the planet by a country mile. Further, energy abundance makes the World better collectively and drives innovation. With AI, for example, being all the rage right now, the power consumption to run it and train the large language models that power it is IMMENSE. The countries that invest in nuclear will ultimately win that race while not having to rely as heavily on fossil fuels.

Were you better off when Trump was president or now with Biden?
That is something often asked at election time. To me the question is, is the country better off now? The government isn't there to promote an individuals welfare but to promote the general welfare. In my opinion we as a country are not better off.

Here is an easy one:
