Talk in the stands the last couple games surrounding the lack of "due diligence" on behalf of ISU associated with in-game injuries.

v. Missouri State - Jake Odum suffered a hard fall to the floor, banging his head against the hardwood UNDER the south basket (ISU's end of HC). He was NEVER attended by an ISU trainer while lying on the floor or while walking by himself DIRECTLY to the dressing room for treatment.

v. IL St. - Devonte Brown lay motionless under the north basket after a hard fall, as 2-3 min passed before ANY ISU Trainer arrived and a DEAD BALL.

Inexcusable...

Years ago, Head Trainer Ray Baggett or Dr. Behnke would've been on these injuries in a heartbeat!

Does anyone know who the lady was who appeared to come out of the stands? I am pretty sure she did not come from the bench area. I totally agree with the statement by Bankshot (imagine that), that the lack of urgency seemed WRONG at the time. Missed the MSU game so I did not see that one.

The MSU game incident was WORSE, as Odum could've easily suffered further injury while UNACCOMPANIED to the dressing room w/ a possible concussion. The most embarrassing aspect of this is that ODUM is a 1st Team All-MVC Pre-season selection, and you'd think there'd be greater ISU care & treatment! Needless to say, both incidents reflected poor organizational sport injury protocol.

Lo and behold, I am agreeing with Bank. ISU had (has?) a top notch athletic training program...No excuse for the lack of response.

Ref MUST signal for anyone on the bench to come on the floor, I was watching for the signal, as soon as he did the trainors were on the the floor hurrying to the player. hold the refs accountable if you will

I know, I'm agreeing with Bank too but I had no idea that they had to wait on the ref to signal something. Learn something new every day.

Fantastic knowledge. I wonder this as well and it makes sense. Also makes you wonder why they took so long because he was rolling around in pain for a good 20 seconds before the ref started walking towards the scorers table.

Them boneheads were trying to figure out why the called a foul. I thought it was a great defensive play - certainly wasn't body foul.

Officials are NOT physicians. Their primary purpose is GAME CONTROL. As soon as it becomes obvious that a severe injury may have occurred, they should immediately summon the sideline for assistance. I officiated HS ball in multiple states for over 25 yrs., and NEVER witnessed the time delays shown by officials in the last two games. Absurd...and why did ISU have to scan the "stands" to locate a Certified Trainer? More absurdity.

I have NEVER seen a team penalized for attending to the needs of an INJURED PLAYER when the clock has been stopped. It's simply a unwritten ethos at all levels of sport. Someone show me in the NCAA RB where this is addressed? SAFETY is always foremost #1 in sport.

Perhaps a few more of these suits might leverage the NCAA toward greater accountability:
