Tale of two halves.

Yes, the refs did us no favors. We did ourselves no favors, either.

Bad defensive effort. Bad rebounding effort. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn and they're fucking everywhere in Iowa.

That is a game you should have won. I don’t care @BlueBleeder was on to it - the effort in the second half wasn’t it. I questioned him at the time but he was way ahead of it - just a shit ass effort out of the half if you want to win on the road.

Well, we didn’t win but we didn’t look bad (though I know many disagree with that sentiment). This early in the conference season, playing against the refs, I’m encouraged.

Also, the ball movement in the first vs zero ball movement and heavy ISO was a STARK contrast. Looked like two different teams entirely.

I’m not encouraged at all. That was a dreadful second half. Tell me other than Sterling Young who played well in that half??? Name one player that actually looked halfway decent - that was a poorly coached and poorly played half of basketball.

Oh don’t worry dude, I knew you wouldnt agree with my post.

We played one of the best teams in the league on the road. And we had a chance to the very end. Full stop.

Bad news is we are 1-3.
Good news is we were right there in 2 of those losses
other good news is the combined records of the teams we have played in conference is currently 47-14

We've had a pretty tough early conference schedule and we can do the "what if" game all day but coming out 1-3 is probably what you would expect 2-2 would have been very encouraging and 3-1 would have been a dream start

If that team is one of the best in the Valley the Valley is absolute trashhhhh that team sucks. They needed an absolute homer job from the officials to even stay in the game.

And you didn’t name a single player that played well in the second half. Gotta give me more than that.

Right, cuz there wasn’t one. And we were still in it at the end. You see it one way, I see it another.

I don’t see it differently… I see an absolutely winnable road game if you lose the foul count so drastically in the first half but are up 6 and missed tons of open 3’s.

The effort in the second half was dog fucking shit. That was brutally soft. If you play with any kind of dog in you at all in the second half you win that game going away.

You be encouraged. The season will be over and you will be left with nothing if that half game gave you hope. You are way more knowledgeable and a better fan than giving that effort any love.

One of those rare times I hate being right. The effort wasn't bad, I wasn't trying to say that, but it wasn't matching the intensity UNI came out in the 2nd half with....and you saw it in all the OR and loose balls the Panthers got. Close game on the road, but another loss, none-the-less. Sucks
