believe it's also on ESPN2. this is going to be there superbowl. going to be the hostile crowd Murray is known for
I hope it will be hostile, lot of fans are unhappy with the team's inconsistent performance. Students will finally be back so that will bring the energy.
Think Murray still has nightmares from our game at Hulman last year??? At least when Masen Miller enters the game! Boy that was fun.
Every time I close my eyes..
They're very streaky but explosive. I think the really, really miss DJ Burns and his energy and hustle he provided in the post.

Perry is the best mid-range shooter in the Valley and one of the best in the country but he's selfish. While he is their leading scorer, I don't think he is their most important player. IMO, that's JaCobi Wood, who we also offered (and visited) back in the '20 class. If he isn't going, they struggle so I full expect Ju will get this matchup like he got Alston last night.

One thing I also have seen is their fans don't think Prohm is doing very well with his in-game adjustments. So if we scheme something he isn't prepared for, we could be off to the races.
All of this. Ellington has come a LONG way to replace that DJ Burns energy. Perry thinks he's the most important. It's not so much that Prohm dosen't make good in-game adjustments, it's more that he can't. The coaching staff struggles to keep the simple things the team does consistent.
This one has my attention because (despite their record) Murray has some athletic guards that can keep pace with ours. Our three guards have been too much for every other team in the valley so far, and while valley teams can stop one or (sometimes) two of our guards they can’t stop three. Murray has some athletic guys in their backcourt that can keep up with ours on the court, so that is where I get a little nervous as it is on the road.

Think Robbie could be big in this game. Not sure Murray State has the post game to stop him one on one.
Wood and Anderson are outstanding on-ball defenders. Moore and Morgan are consistently good defenders too, so is Perry when he feels like it. When the Racers are engaged defensively they are pretty fn' tough.

Ellington is surprising defensively against larger opponents, same with Justin Morgan. I'd feel a lot better if Abdelgowad wasn't hurt.
Murray State's defense isn't all that. It's a good thing our system isn't dependent on just Swope so not worried. The way our system is ran Opponents have to give up something. Also I don't think it would be a good idea to play anything with zone principles against us. We shoot too good for that.
Murray doesn't run any real defense at you. Just man to man, switching and hedging screens, sagging on the weak side, pretty basic stuff. We do like to half court trap however. Y'all are going to have no problem getting open looks if you keep passing the ball. The racers do have long arms and active hands, so they force a lot of deflections and generate steals. They are also very successful against dribble-drive teams, but not at all against disciplined offenses.

I will say this, if you do have trouble getting open looks at the three, you can back-cut us all night long until we sag baseline and then...

Yes! please play a zone against us. Everybody eats!
I doubt we try any sort of zone.

1st in the country in “Positive Momentum” for Murray? Wow.
Well, that's one thing we got one thing going for us 🤣

Seriously though, the Racers are going to have to absolutely BRING IT for 40 to win this game. We do have some guards that will match up well with y'all defensively, but we switch almost exclusively on screens so it won't take too much ball movement to get a mismatch. Unfortunately for the Racers, ball movement is y'all's forte. We also like to jump passing lanes and hedge screens, which can lead to open 3's and clear paths respectively. As long as you don't turn it over a bunch and have an inexplicably off night shooting you will probably have us beat. 🤷‍♂️

Listen, I run a video camera for Murray, I desperately want to see a competitive game. If it's bad, I literally can't take my eyes off of it and it's painful. 🫣

Outside of maybe Jacobi Wood, Murray ain't got the 'dudes' this year and they are by the whole too selfish to play cohesively for long enough to win consistently. I still don't have much faith in anything better than a 16-15 (13-9) finish to the regular season for Murray, but I would love a surprise. 😁

Don't know much about Murray myself. It seems like they have a stable of talented bigger guards and don't play a true big? That's kind of how they rolled last year. Last year @Murray was one of the few games where I felt like we just didn't show up (I think voss was the only guy to hit a 3). We obviously reversed the fortunes when they came to TH but it would be nice to play well in front of what I would assume is a good/rowdy crowd and national TV

Murray lost to UNI by 10 at home...I think we're clearly better than UNI.

I think if we play at Murray 10 times...we cover that 5.5 at least 7 times....maybe 8.
