Tom,

Is this what you envisioned when you started this thread?

This argument would be hillarious if we were all sitting at the Bally with a beer in our hand!

Nuff said my a$$. I too (with the correct number of o's) competed in DI athletics, at a much larger school than ISU. Maybe you do know, but your a**inine statements make most believe that you have no idea. Let me guess, you were a distance runner?? That would explain some of the insecurities.

Not a distance runner... You assume so many things its silly. Who in the world suggested I competed at Indiana State? Who in the world suggested I ran track or cross country? Just because I have worked the National meet here in Terre Haute and support the effort and success of a program does not say anything about my past. You can go ahead and draw conclusions if you would like.... But I suggest you stop cursing at me.

Tommy! Great find on that article man! I have been saying it for months! Odum is a candidate and a leading candidate at this point. The fact that he and RJ got mentioned is good stuff! Hell everyone knows I am highly critical of RJ but thats sweet! Good for these guys. It's pretty cool to even be mentioned as a candidate for such an honor! I bet these kids "compete" harder than any other kids in the state! No pun intended.

i'd love to get with some of you guys and sit around a table at the bally....

and then let it all fly...lol.....

reminds me of the days at isu when we used to have the weeknight chalktalk sessions for isu football. once a week, a bunch of boosters would get together with coach raetz and then athletic director beanie cooper....along with us athletic department types....we would have a few drinks...watch the game film from the previous week and then look at film of the upcoming opponent...and then watch as the arguments would ensue....friendly, for the most part, in nature....but it was great theatre....i was told by my boss at the time to just shut up...watch...listen...and then forget what was said...lol.....

it would be great to set up one night a week at the bally...throughout the school year....and all of us hardasses would get together and talk the night away.....that would be a lot of fun...of course, we'd have to have some bouncers nearby to keep some of you from socking each other in the jaw or nose...lol....

I am in as long as New Sycamore Fan is in! I need to set the record strait with this guy once and for all. I am tired of hiding behind this computer heck everyone on here thinks I am negative all the time anyways.

been away for a while, and after I'd posted the original post that got all this stuff going I knew someone would get upset. I should have phrased it differently than what I did.

Given that, I am certain all ISU athletes work and train very hard to be the best they can be. That's what we all hope and want them to do, train and compete to the best of their god given abilities.

Track and CC have been successful the past 25 years because the coaches have remained the same, the athletes they bring in for the most part aren't always the best athletes out there, but by the time they graduate they're as good as most athletes at much bigger schools.

Success breeds success and that's what has been going on with Track and CC since the Fall of 1983, there hasn't been any other sports program at ISU that has enjoyed MVC, NCAA, Olympic, and National success (consistently) since that time.

I hope all the other sports programs at ISU will soon be at the same level. I'm as tired of the losing as everyone else.

hey isu cc...kudos to you....

i couldnt have said it better myself.....and kudos to mcnichols and gartland for "coaching tthem up" as raetz used to say.....
