I think this picture pretty much proves that the dam was no where close to failing. Just look at how thick that concrete is that they had to bust through!

Ambulance Chasers. Vigo County Scanner. Just Facebook trash.
Actually Iv e met the guy who runs the scanner page. He’s a decent guy who’s retired and listened as a hobby. He also doesn’t put up with much on there. Now the Terre Haute Vice news page is a bunch of ambulance chasing idiots. The guy who started that is a felon.

Having had many interactions with you I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Beyond that I’m just going to just say a lot of that FB bull shit is beyond trash. I don’t have time for it.

The environmental impacts of humans accelerating the damming of rivers in the last century or so is tremendous. This particular dam would not be on the list of the most aggregous examples but never sorry to see them go....

Has anyone done the Missouri rivers? They are outstanding. The Cuivre River, Current, The Eleven Point are all outstanding. A lot of these are spring fed and there are some spots of challenging white water. On the Eleven Point we get an outfitter to take us upriver 30 miles and camp along the river for one or two nights. Crystal clear rock bottom river, most of it surrounded by National or State forest. The Big Piney in the Big Piney Wilderness area can kick your ass at high water.

Never done any of the Missouri Rivers. I've truck drove in northern Arkansas and southern Missouri in the Ozarks and there's definitely some nice looking rivers down there. I believe I've crossed the Current River, that you mentioned above, in Arkansas on US 67 if I'm not mistaken.

I own my own kayaks, but my truck is the same age as me so I try my best to stick within an hour radius of Terre Haute. Next year I'm going to try to organize a two day trip on the Eel River from Bowling Green to Worthington (40 river miles). I know a couple of people that also want to do that one.

96, our Fraternity has a Spring canoe trip at Turkey Run State Park. Coming up. Any bloggers been to The Sig House on 6th Street?

Got home early from truck driving today and had the opportunity to kayak from Old Mill Dam to the Wabash River (6.6 miles) for the very first time. Kayaked a mile back upstream and had someone pick me up at 41. The water level on the creek was perfect today.
