There is even more to the Meyers Leonard Story

There is even more to the Meyers Leonard Story.

Aaron Siler, the scrappy point guard who led Robinson to the final game of the Pizza Hut Classic in Terre Haute in December, is the son of Brian Siler, the man who took Leonard under his wing after the death of his father. The Siler family's role in helping Meyers' disabled mother raise the "7-foot-1 point guard" is described in the ESPN story.

This is a great story that I followed last year. Leonard would routinely get ripped on the Illinois forum (I'm a U of I alum, so I follow that also) as soft, not ready for the NBA... He's had a lot of pressure over the past few years with his personal life and the decisions he felt obligated to make, even though it seemed like he wanted to stay in school. The "foster" family should be given a ton of credit, as should Myers for realizing the gifts he was given and working extremely hard to make himself a first round pick. The emotion shown in the video when he sees his older brother says it all.
