Excited for our first game and will be there. Don't know a lot about McKendree other than they were picked 5th in the GLVC and lost to Western Illinois in their only D1 game 32-49 last season. Obviously expecting a win and think we should win by several scores. Anything less than that would be a complete letdown.

Thursday night makes it hard to get for those of us who work, but yes let’s hope there is a good crowd, especially from the students.

On to the game, we need to absolutely spank McKendree, and there is no reason we shouldn’t. The new offensive coordinator needs to open the playbook and score as many points as possible. None of that playing it close to the vest so we don’t show EIU anything baloney. Screw that! Play your best people, score points, and shut them down. If we can, and we don’t, that will be a disappointment. If we don’t, because we can’t, that will be a bigger disappointment.

Owens from fall camp interviews indicated the new OC is really spreading the ball around, with emphasis on getting the ball out quickly. Tight Ends will be more involved, and reading the fake blitz to stick with the original play. That play calling should open up the run game.
We will torch McKendree.

McKendree in the 1st qtr. had the ball 10:45. Went down with a missed field goal. Not a good start at all. Lucky to be tied.
