Tough call?

An emphatic negative!

They have shown us night in and night out that they can't defend anyone, they have played in spurts all season. Missouri State tried to choke that game up... Some of the decisions this team makes wears me out - they have no discipline that I can see.

If you can put a positive spin on this game, please share with me?

Yeah I see what you are saying 28, I was just makin sure that you didn't think that you could make this look good.

Here is the deal, if this was the first time this season that this team has done this then I would say that it's really positive that they fought back. But that's not the case, they have done this ALL season. And here is the thing, MSU stopped playing - we were able to take advantage of that but that's not the point. I can't say it enough - we have to be the worst passing and worst defending team in the conference and that is a deadly combo!

we keep on getting Killed by the "other" guy in the back court have you noticed that???????? I think once Dwayne gets back...and we are a bit better defensively and offensively for that matter because we have a real threat other than Harry to take it to the rack...wasnt it just like a month ago everyone though defense was something we could hang our hat on? I think we need to not freak out at this point. Long season and I wouldnt say this one is already lost by any means, we just need to be calm because eventually, we WILL break out of this funk..

Before injuries to Kelly (Very good defender) and Lathan...

Oh I agree - you can see what has happened to our team deference the second that Jake Kelly got hurt at Southern. I think Jake's value to this team was not really evident until he went down with his injury and people started to see what he brought to this team.

He has the ability to get to the 3 point line, he opens things up because defenders have to keep a hand in his face, he passes and handles the ball better than anyone on the team, he plays as good of defense as anyone not named Lathan or Marshall and he gives us pretty good size at the guard spot. I guess what I am saying is even though Kelly was not putting up gaudy numbers he brings a lot to the table... He is the difference between this team being a serious contender and a pretender.

I was pretty proud to be a Sycamore fan last night.

Really? Why? We have been doing this all season, a team that has played with a lack of effort and desire for 2 strait games. A team that has been down at least 10 points the last 4 games... That's amazing to me, I don't know what about last night would make anyone proud? We lost the game, who cares that we came back and forced over time and that it woulda been the biggest come back in MVC history, none of that matters because the thing is we didn't win and at the end of the day that's all that really matters!

I went to bed after the sorry a$$ first half and then discovered that they got their head out of their a$$ in the second half to make a game of it. Sorry..................the overall performance does not make me proud.

I guess it comes from the fact that we were undermanned, down 24, and on the road in the MVC before fighting back to give ourselves a chance to win. We played with heart and effort.

Like most things, I'm sure it's very hard for you to understand. We're not Duke, North Carolina, or even Purdue. For that matter we're really not Creighton, WSU, or the other top teams in the MVC. We're building from the bottom, and that takes time. The progress from last year has been impressive.

I've endured ISU basketball for a long, long time. I've watched countless Sycamore teams that would have rolled over at halftime and taken their 40 point beating. This team didn't. This team kept fighting with players contributing that you said couldn't play in the MVC.

I enjoyed our effort. I support our team. I understand that a .500 road record would be a huge accomplishment this season...especially if we take care of business at home. The "doom-and-gloom...I told you so...I'm smarter than you stuff" may make you feel good, but I appreciated the effort of our kids last night.

ahah I especially liked this part - I don't see anything wrong with what I have posted and in no way have I tooted m own horn. But I will go ahead and let you take your digs at me while trying to get your point across.

I am particularly glad that you put the part in about you supporting our team, like someone questioned your fandomonium or you are questioning mine... I am sure mine speaks for it's self so no worries here.

I am glad you posted your thoughts though, I was looking for someone who was able to put a positive spin on last night because I was not able to do so!

Last 3 games and the opponents FG%

Witchita State - 58%
Northern Iowa - 49.1%
Missouri State - 53.2%

Not going to get the job done.

I look for those #'s to gradually drop 10-15% once we Lathan & Dolouny back, as ENERGY CONSERVATION won't continue to be such an issue in rotation & strategy (zone). However, we'll still have backcourt ballhandling issues hanging over our heads, and our opponets know this.

With Lathan inside, our opponets won't be able to overplay outside (last three games) or they'll pay the price.
