Let's not forget, too, that a player's legend grows after they're gone and you miss them. No doubt Sewall will be long remembered with those other great names. Have to say, Larry King has been looking solid as well.

Exactly. I don't have the extensive knowledge of having seen sycamore football as long as others but I know one thing: Alex is
Effective at Any level of ball..

I saw Vencie Glenn play in the NFL. I certainly don't think he has to worry about being overshadowed. He was very good! Just giving Sewall his due.

correct me if im wrong but we also played without ryan roberts. he had some huge tackles against Youngstown.

with him out the whole game and Shakir out the 2nd half, thats 2 very important pieces missing. Does anyone know how often the conference champ is undefeated in the MVC?

Carter and Roberts were both out against UNI. Sewall wound up playing some LB and Donovan Layne (FR Safety) played quite a bit. It shows the depth that we are starting to see develop where 2 key starters are out, and we still had a very good performance.

It's been a long time since we were able to say that, a very long time. Being able to say that now sure has a nice ring to it.

The defense came to prove something in that game...and they did just that. If we can get the passing game back on track...we will be VERY dangerous..

He will not get anywhere close to the career tackle record, which is in the 420's I think. He could end up in the top 6-8.

Pg. 91 -- 2011 ISU Football Media Guide

I think Sewall finished the UNI game with 299 total tackles (244 from 2008-2010, 45 this season)

The 45 counts assisted tackles as 0.5 tackles in the current stats on the gosycamores site. This just changed this week for some reason. On the MVFC site and the NCAA stats site, he has 61 tackles this season, which gives him the 305 (your math above would have been 289 not 299).

My stats sources are solely INDIANA STATE...

Who is the 'official' authority?

As I said in my previous post, Indiana State's stats are screwed up and changed from prior weeks to what is posted this week. Two weeks ago, Indiana State's web site and stats had him with 50 tackles, so even though he had 11 at SDSU, he winds up with 5 less tackles than he had the week before?? If you look at any other teams stats, both assisted and solo tackles count as 1 tackle. The "official" authority, I assume is the conference and the NCAA.

Does the NCAA or the Conference subcontract that to the stat geeks at Elias Sports Bureau?

Do our SIDs rebuild the stats from the NCAA or the Conference?
