Gotta Hav

The Wade Level
Did anyone go see any new movies over the Christmas Break?

I saw Jack Reacher w/Tom Cruise. I thought it was a great Detective/Who do it/Murder Mystery movie!!! There weren't any story line flaws or directing flaws, or scene flaws in it that you might find in movies from time-to-time. Plus the acting by everyone in it was convincing.

So overall, I would recommend anyone to see it. And that takes a lot for me to do, cuz I just hate saying "man, you gotta go see such-n-such movie" and then they say "man, that movie was awful, what did you see in it?" I don't think you will say that about Jack Reacher.

Oh, one more thing about the Jack Reacher movie....it is a total fantasy. We so much need about 20 of these Jack Reacher guys in every city in America, but it just ain't goin' to happen...it's just not real...which is just too darn bad.

Also, my buddy Barb and her girlfriend Diane saw Les Miserables. They just loved it. It must be a real chick flick, or tear jerker cuz she said people were sobbing and crying throughout the whole movie. So if ya wanna get Mom, your girlfriend, or your wife outta of the house this weekend so you can watch the NFL playoffs this weekend, you may wanna spring for some tickets...and say look honey, look what I bought you, tickets for you and Karen to go see Les Miserables. P.S. Les Miserables is 2 hours and 45 minutes long...so encourage them to go to lunch, and shopping...and you've probably got a good 5 - 6 hours of undisturbed NFL foot ball watching!!! Woohoo!!!

I'm trying to figure out WHO's the "social worker"...you or Barb? :viking:

Me and the family went this past weekend to watch the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Not sure what was worse, the movie or the damn $81 for 6 people to see it...geesh!

There are quite a few things out I want to see right now. Django Unchained and Lincoln. Althought they will be bad, I want to see Parental Guidance and This is 40. In May, Iron Man will be out. Despicable Me 2 is in June.

Saw Argo awhile back and though it was fantastic. Rented Trouble with the Curve and thought it was not bad for a buck even though Eastwood looks like death. Also saw Wreck-It Ralph with the youngest and he liked it a lot.

Saw Django last week- vintage Tarantino. Teeters between absurd and brilliant, incredible dialog, superb acting. I loved it, but then again, I'm a Tarantino wonk.

Liked both of those movies, the scenery in Mud reminded me of my moms family farm. They are row crop farmers on the Mississippi and I was impressed at how well they captured the poverty of that area. Olympus has Fallen was good, a nice character of the 2004 red team plan scary how detailed those scenarios get.

I have seen this summer:
Olympus Has Fallen : Not bad
White House Down : About the same as Olympus Has Fallen but not bad.
Hangover3 : Better than 2 but not in nearly as good as 1.
The Heat: Funniest movie of the summer.
We are the Millers : Jenifer Anniston stripping enough said and only reasson I went to the movie.

Lone Survivor is a must see... One of the most intense and sad true stories you will see.

Went to see "Lone Survivor" by myself Monday afternoon. Agree with SSOM but let me caution you that if you have ever or presently dealing with PTSD then I would not advise it. It messed me up for the next couple of days and still not sleeping good at night. The head shots and the dead bodies are something I need to avoid seeing.
If I had it to do over I wish I wouldn't have gone but being a veteran and having read the book I made the decision to go.
Critics and veterans describe it as the most accurate of any war movie to date!
God bless these men and their families as they made the ultimate sacrifice!

And eat shit anyone who thinks that movie is just political propaganda.

Agree--nothing political about---courage--sacrifice--commitment--toughness--preparedness--love of God--country and family!
Was known to wade into a crowd of students and remove a students hat during the playing of the national anthem at ballgames! Sometimes it raised a ruckus --and was once even told I couldn't do it--shit about rights and political correctness---but bottom line it wasn't going to happen on my watch!

Every high school student should be shown this movie--- after watching footage of the 911----- and then tell them that's why you remove your fucking hats and act respectful during the playing of the national anthem!
God Bless America!
Go Trees!

I went last Wednesday, with my youngest son and three of his friends...the theatre was pretty packed for a Wednesday night. When the movie was over, you could have heard a pin drop. Did you happen to notice the name of the Defense Company on the coms radio, that the camera closed in on twice????
