ISU needs a president that understands that we're a Division 1 institution, and someone that's actually proud of ISU's academics. Anytime I ever hear a commerical for ISU on the radio or see a billboard, all they ever say is that ISU is an affordable school, which makes it sound like you're getting a "cheap" education. Dr Curtis has essentially turned ISU into a glorified 4 year community college in my view. IU, Purdue, and Ball State are all basically the same price as ISU, so why exactly would anyone want to come to ISU over those schools?
I've heard straight from people that work at and attend ISU that school pride is at an all time low. Very few students are actually proud to be a Sycamore. If they aren't proud of it now, I doubt they will be in the future either.
ISU also needs a president that can actually make a connection with the alumni. If anything Curtis has alienated them. It all started with Homecoming and Tent City. Now many of the people that used to come back every year and still had a personal connection to the university no longer do. I went to Homecoming last year and there was barely anymore people in and around the stadium than there are at any other game. She completely ruined that.
