On Wednesday, the Sycamores are the 3rd game of the day behind the opening women's games putting the tip around 4pm PST. For those that aren't interested in watching those games, we will be having an impromptu meetup for anyone interested at Pkwy Tavern District, which is located right across the street from the venue.

I plan on getting there around NOON so anyone that wants to come out and talk Sycamore hoops is more than welcome. I believe this is a kid friendly establishment before evening hours as it is a "bar and grill" but you would need to call and double check. Their phone number is (702) 478-4217.

Bumping for those of you coming to Vegas.

Traffic is a nightmare with F1 wrapping up. I don't know how quickly it will resort to normal after the race tonight, but if you plan to Uber/Lyft from the strip area, it may be difficult to get rides so plan accordingly. You will also have better odds if you're closer to the end of the Strip in either direction.

This week is like Christmas for you @Jason Svoboda just day it!!

My buddy was trying to get me to commit last night - I had a couple bourbons at that point and I lead him to believe I might be able to convince my wife that’s set to give birth in 3 weeks. That shit just ain’t gonna fly. But I’d like to!

Are you telling me they didn't schedule this MTE just for me? I don't buy it.

Kind of off topic, but I was watching some Vegas vloggers on YT talking about the F1 event. Sounds like F1 was trying to nickel and dime the city and the casinos to death. Reminded me of when IMS told them to take a hike when they eventually tried the same stuff here. The problem is that the sport just isn't that big in the US compared to other countries, sort of like soccer. I went to one of the races at Indy, I think the year after the infamous tire protest incident where only 6 cars took the track. The races are almost always follow the leader where maybe two or three drivers max have a realistic chance at winning. Then you have the fans with their air horns blasting the whole time.

Yes, not very popular

Jason, how quick did they take all the F1 stuff down and open the strip back up?

I’m curious.

Hahahahaha.

Preliminary estimates is it will take 8 weeks to de-F1 the Strip. But at least the ancillary side roads will be open within the next few days which has been the source of the major logistical problems.

Very boring when Max Versomething always wins.

Figured some of it would take awhile. The paddock couldn’t have been easy or fast to put up.

Was a great race. Carlos Seinz got hosed on the grid penalty. Not his fault a piece of the road took out his car/engine.

Wonder how much the casinos took in this week

The paddock is a permanent structure. They spent half a billion on it and it will serve as their North American HQ IIRC. That is on the corner of Koval and Harmon. But pretty much across the street and all along the track they put up these scaffold-based buildings that have to come down. There were like 18-24 of those if I counted somewhat accurately when I drove the lap a month or so ago.

I noticed they tried to put up banners on the walkway bridges that cross over the street but it looked like a lot of people just took them down and watched from up there lol

Yeah, they put a film up two weeks ago and visitors just peeled it off. Then they put up semi-transparent banners and these light towers shining back in on the bridge. Then they had some security staff literally yelling at people to move. They really need to re-think their approach next year. Those aren't your fans so instead of trying to hook them, you treat them like crap... makes no sense.

It seems like it's always been like that too. Basically one team and its two drivers dominate the entire season. Before it was Mercedes with Lewis Hamilton and now its Red Bull with Verstappen.
