The White Level
I was thinking about the strength of the Valley, and at the time I was a supporter of the MVC bringing in Loyola (to replace the departing CU), however I've definitely changed my mind.
Loyola, at best, has been so-so to just not good. The near future of the Ramblers looks like they will be a lower level MVC team. The move to grab the Chicago market by adding Loyola has been a bit of a joke, as the Ramblers are barely a blip on the radar of the Chicago sports media.
Even when the MVC's best teams visit LU's Gentile Center, the attendance is absolutely an embarrassment. We were all sold on the large resources that LU would be investing in their program, and the Ramblers were going to do big things in the Valley. Well, color this longtime MVC fan as skeptical to say the least.
So maybe it was a huge misstep by the Valley. Just wondering who could/would have been a better choice to increase the strength of the Valley?
