Sitting 12th in the country right now in Effective Field Goal Pct. Over the last 3 games sitting first in the nation in the same stat. We're 96th in Offensive Efficiency - not 100% what all goes into that metric but if we were not in the 300's in turnovers we'd probably be much higher in that metric as well. I'd say outside of turning the ball over this team has really surprised me with how well they've been scoring the ball as of late.

Shout out to long time contributor and the super positive @sycamorebacker who has taken a lot of grief from me over the years. But a few weeks ago he challenged this team to get to the rim and I feel like he genuinely believed this team had the ability to get to the rim and finish - I had my doubts to say the least! But since that discussion - things have been really good for this group!

It's awfully early - I think this team still has some talent limitations but guys seem to really be buying in. Can we lock in on D and can we start taking care of the basketball? While still doing these other things at a pretty high level? Remains to be seen...

I said this in the first game and everyone laughed. We are running the offense the same way more or less, just with less skilled players. Teel has been huge in being able to score and facilitate at a high level. This is promising from coaching staff

Never forget people laughing at you... I never recall you being bullied in school little brother. It's okay - we had plenty to laugh at early on they were not playing very well.

The emergence of LeGree has 2nd ball handler has been huge as well as JD establishing his role. We didn't have those 2 things 2-3 weeks ago and the other couldn't make up for it.

You also got guys cutting at a higher level.

You have guys not settling for shots - I mean we commented in the first half I believe of last game Summers took an absolute chuck 3 in transition and granted he had hit one prior but it was just ill advised at this point in his career. This is an offense that no doubt rewards shooters that have a clip - but you can't just chuck unless you've established yourself, not a shot you can get at anytime. He didn't see the floor much in the second half as I can recall.

So I think you've just got Graves still really trying to figure out his lineups and it's been fluid - he's been doing a better job with it as much as the guys have been buying in more - so a combo of both maybe? Interested to hear what others think.

How much does our first game against FAU skew the stats in this algorithm? I mean, we were absolutely atrocious in that game…

Probably quite a bit, but in all fairness, it all equals out because all teams have those games that are outliers that drive metrics back toward the median both positive and negative. You are what you are eventually. Right now offensively we’re looking pretty decent - turnovers and defensively we are dreadful.

I need JD to establish his role a bit more before we say he has a role. Second half was a great showing, but lots to learn in the first from the Mo St game
He's just getting started. He probably has to make it as a 4 but he is making progress at going to the hoop with and without the ball.

To me he has a role. Now it’s just a matter of executing it at an higher level consistently and not missing layups at the rim. Lol

We’re turnovers issues away from being an elite offensive team. It’s our defense that will absolutely hold us back. Offensively we’ve been more or less fine all year
