I have a sincere question...

How is channelsurfing.net legally able to steal the live streams of college athletic events (and all the other content, too)?

Or is it legal?

If not legal, how do they get away with it?

And if any moderator would correct my spelling of "Question" in the title of this thread, I'd be much appreciative.

No, it's not legal. You can look at it like the way illegal mp3s can be found online. They get away with it much like any of the torrent sites do -- usually routing stuff through other countries. Believe channelsurfing.net is hosted offshore in Amsterdam.

Considering how ISU has six of their games being televised on W-TWO locally which could cut in to the attendance, I have no problem using it to watch. I mean why should I have to pay to watch the game when people sitting in the Wabash Valley are getting it on free tv. ISU needs to be making the product accessible to it's alumni in the rest of the state instead of making it more difficult for us to watch just because we are not in the free tv market.

How do you think that could possibly be done?

How did the Sycamore's game Saturday end up on channelsurfing as it was not on local tv? How do they get it?

Which ultimately hurts the university because people don't pay for the service.

So does WTWO pay the university enough to make up for the people that stay home and watch it on tv instead of coming to the game. Why should the people in the Wabash Valley get to watch it for free but the alumni in the rest of the state have to pay to watch it. Other university's offer their feed for free, why can't ISU?

I don't know how many do offer it for free, especially at ISU's level. And how many games are on TV? With men's basketball maybe five at most all season?
