Just saw on twitter their starting QB has quit the team, so that may help ISU out in their game in SD.

This is a tough situation for the kid. If your heart isn't in it, it's probably best to step aside, and he made that very difficult decision. Based on the article below, it sounds like he felt huge pressure and the negativism took its toll. It's unfortunate he wasn't able to finish out his career after putting in all the work required of these young student athletes. Best of luck to him in the future. This, in my mind, reinforces how strong our Seniors are, and the perseverance and fortitude that they have shown over the past 4 years.

Seriously?

Sorry, but after watching what our own players have gone through in recent years, watching them fight despite national criticism and scrutiny over the losing streak, watching them battle every week despite long odds and numerous blowouts, I have absolutely no sympathy at all for this kid. He is going to regret it for the rest of his life, as well he should.

Sometimes you have to read between the lines. Sure he quit on the team, but maybe, just maybe, they had already quit on him, as possibly had the coach???? Bent, I know full well and first hand how much adversity our upper classmen faced, and how hard they fought over the past few years (as I said in my initial post), and how close they were to the same decision, so please don't lecture me on that front. I was just having compassion for the obviously difficult decision the kid made, and I'm not so sure he'll regret it for the rest of his life.

he deserves to be tarred and feathered and ridden out of town on a rail.

:naughty::jawdrop::krazy: That's how you advocate treating "slaves?" :naughty::jawdrop::krazy:

once he left the ncaa plantation, he was no longer a slave. but thanks for confirming my point of view.

With your warped perspective; I'd think you'd want to become the NEW Harriet Tubman, but it sounds like you're more Simon Legree, John Emerson or John F.A. Sanford...

BTW -- I'm not confirming your point of view; merely using YOUR language to question your 'vision.'

You still haven't proven your claim of ncaa athletes being slaves.

You've had sufficient time.

Retract your claim and apologize to all of the athletes.

For what it's worth, I wasn't responding directly to you, just venting my disgust. Has to be a bizarre situation though if everyone has quit on you and yet they're still letting you start at QB.

maybe not to your satisfaction.

and why should i apologize to them. i'm trying to do more for them than you and others of your ilk are. and you have the nerve to liken me to simon legree.

You haven't done it at all; to anyone's satisfaction.

What exactly are you 'trying to do?'

You want to tar and feather a kid who's decided he no longer wishes to play football, at least for the Jackrabbits. What would YOU call yourself?

well don't include me in that "anyone." i can only do what i can do. you know the old adage about water and a horse.

my remark about tar and feathering was made sarcastically in response to those comments bordering on disdain and hatred for the young man. sorry there wasn't a sarcasm button. i still can't believe anyone would take my remark literally or seriously.

what am i trying to do? get these young men paid for their labor.

what would i call myself? maybe the lone deranger
