This here. While I would agree that Prime is not the perfect Christian, who is? The main point of Christianity is admitting that you're not perfect and that you need a Savior. Being an open Christian isn't exactly easy, because as soon as you open up about it you immediately have a target on your back and everybody wants to judge every little thing you do.
His values are on full display with his hoodie, gold chains, and sunglasses. His son flashing his Rolex on the post game interview is probably making his father proud. I for One would love to see The Ducks smoke them silly.
Honestly 4Q, I’m not well versed enough to have a strong opinion either way. I can only speak to my own personal “journey” and I’m not sure anyone wants to hear that… Actually, I’m positive they don’t come here for that.
But to sort of indirectly answer your question I will say generally speaking, I appreciate the structure and tradition of the Catholic Church. But I don’t think that is for everyone - it’s boring to a lot of younger generations that don’t appreciate the history. I think whether it be prosperity evangelism or some of just the more modern day (non-denominational) representations of faith (if you will) they seem to be more attractive to younger people and families. I think that’s a good thing & if that’s what gets you to church then awesome I’m here for it.
As it relates to Whitlock and Prime - Whitlock literally gets paid to have opinions. It’s not really popular in the public space to see another black man propping up another black man. We have plenty in the media right now filling that role. We don’t have very many that are willing to be critical of him or that are actively looking for reasons to be critical. That seems to be where Whitlock lands on Prime which is fine - he shouldn’t be just widely revered by everyone in the sports world!! But let’s keep it about sports is all I’m saying - be critical of his coaching, his style, his recruiting, his X’s and O’s, how he left Jackson State etc. so much more to talk about than how he represents himself as a Christian. I just don’t really have an opinion on that.
I'll be the first to admit I'm not a fan of the "look at me" stuff. Personally I don't have a problem with the hoodie and the sunglasses. His hoodie says Colorado on it (repping the school), and the sunglasses are just sunglasses. The chain he's wearing this year is a cross, which seems reasonable enough to me, so I'm not going to complain about that either. If it was $ signs or something like that, then that looks unprofessional, but lots of people wear crosses.
Now I did think it was stupid when he was in Jackson, Mississippi to dress in Louis V and wear a bunch of fancy jewelry because of how poor it is down there and the crime rates are also pretty high. Like in that case you just have to be aware of where you're at. When the locker room at JSU was broken into, it wasn't overly surprising considering the area.
As for his son, I have no idea what his beliefs are. Hopefully at a minimum his father will sit him down and talk to him about managing his money, if he hasn't already, so he doesn't blow through it all. I think Jason posted a graphic the other day showing that he's getting over $4M in NIL, which is completely ridiculous, but I would still hate to see him blow through it.
This is what I’m talking about right here… He’s working hard to find areas to be critical of him. His mind on Prime was likely made up on who he was as a person long before he ever became a coach. I’d be shocked if he didn’t form his initial opinion of him during his playing days. It’s hard for me to take him serious when he’s trying this hard!

Also, there are reverse angles on Twitter of the camera men from ESPN coming up to Sanders and asking him to flex his watch into the camera.
Ya all do realize that over 50% of D1 college football players are African American. Probably 70% (I'm just guessing) of the really good college football we will call them "DOGS" are African American. So hoodies, gold chains, nice cars, louis vuitton, music etc. etc. all that stuff is culturally appropriate for the kids that he most wants to recruit. It resonates with all of them - they want to be a part of that experience. It might not be for you as a fan - from the outside looking in you might not enjoy that and that's okay. But for the DOGS many of them are about that life.
Now... They arrive on campus and he tells them you're going to show up for meetings and practice on time. You're not going to wear a hat in a meeting. You're going to represent this school in a positive way on and off the field. I think some people see the hoodies, gold chains and nice cars and just assume no accountability comes with that. ISU football is so relevant that we have a 49 post thread about a guy who didn't play here, doesn't coach here, was never in Indiana, or the MVFC for that matter. It's entertaining, but also instructive... 
Yeah... I hear you on that but I think a lot of this is coach speak. He's trying to get everything out of these guys he can and if he can make them feel like they aren't getting any respect maybe that will get a little extra something out of them. I think it's all about motivating and getting the most of his players - so he's defiantly overselling the disrespect talk in that locker room.

Oregon should beat Colorado. This is W4 of Y1 and Colorado is now going to be without a two-way Heisman candidate. If they beat Oregon, they're still the story... an even bigger one. He literally can't lose because everyone took shots at what he did this past offseason when he sent a bunch of over recruited kids packing.

Ya, I was thinking the same. Hope it was worth it to someone who paid him. I’ll say he is playing well so far.
It’s a policy of all schools to have a shirt and if you’re going to wear a hat, it has to say the school. His image of being all ghetto out is just not a good look for his age, and his image.
It’s like he wears it to bait somebody to say something then that’s all he talks about the whole week before and after the game. I wish people would stop biting, then he will just not have anything to get in front of the cameras with his disrespect card he plays over and over.
Trust me, he loves the attention way more than being Head Coach for Colorado.
