He has potential, but it will take a while. He played QB at a very small school (I think 1A or 2A in Illinois), so he hasn't faced any real competition. He is too slow to run the offense that he's being asked to run--he has decent speed, but "runs like a deer"?? Please! He will learn in time to throw the ball away when he needs to--this was the biggest reason for the 25 carries for -8 yards. The O Line needs to learn to sustain blocks, like everyone on the team--punt returns, kick returns...one hit and done rather than sustained blocking. He seems like a good kid, and he's the best we have right now, so hopefully he will continue to learn and develop, but I'm not sold on him being the long-term answer--I'd rather see him at WR or back at DB.
