does this push back our football rebuilding period a few years?? so in like 2020 we'll win a game??

Glad to see you support your fellow Sycamore student-athletes. Being an athlete yourself, I would assume that there was some sort of common bond. Guess not.

Perspective? SEMO, who we almost freaking beat last year, beat Quincy 72-3!!!!! They had a 58-0 lead at half time!!! Good god!!! How did we lose that game last week? I still say it should have been a route after the first quarter, but little good that does us now. Just makes last week that much harder to take. It's like being kicked in the gut all over again.

I had my friend, an Iowa grad call laughing to point out the score to me. I'm tired of Indiana State being laughed at. Really tired.

I think we all back and support ISU athletics, but when something like this happens, you have to have the perspective to realize that something is seriously wrong with the program. I'm not saying that Trent Miles isn't the guy, because I really do think he's taking steps that you need to completely overhaul a program. This is definitely a tough situation, but whether you're a Sycamore fan, alum, student, or athlete, we all need to use a little perspective when thinking about the program and where it's going. I hate people accusing others of not having school spirit or not showing support when there are complaints about the team. At any capacity, 1-51 is hard to take (including two losses to NAIA teams).

I still think there's a win out there for us this year...but then again, maybe I'm lacking perspective.

I meant perspective as in how far away we still are.

After reading this post I'm going to call for a truce with you. Like it or not this is our school's team and we have to support them until they start turning it around. Being frustrated is pretty much old hat at this point.

Now that is more of a reasonable post that people can work with... I don't see anything wrong with your take at all. You are right this thing is a mess, their is no doubt about that. Their are a few of us on here that like to paint pretty pictures out of this mess, but for the most part people on here realize what happened last Thursday can't happen and what happened tonight made it all the worse.

I understand. I just saw this thread and then the final score and groaned until my chest started to hurt. That sure is some perspective alright (sigh). The kind of perspective that really leaves one wondering what in the world the future holds for this team.

Shit look on the bright side atleast the score wasen't 80 to 3... It could have been worse. lol

No wait watch this:

You could be a Cubs fan! lol

No no even better:

You could be a Cubs fan and a Sycamore fan! Niceeee!

Eastern Illinois also handled Illinois State with ease, so the things aren't going to get any easier next week.

Watched some of the Iowa State vs North Dakota State game tonight. NDSU competed well and could have made the game a lot closer if not for some turnovers. Iowa State has a pretty good offense, but their D is questionable.

i support isu athletics and bleed blue. i'll go to the football games... hope for a win, but harvey has it right. i respect them for the effort but nothing lasts forever (even losing streaks, but is it worth the time and effort to wait around?) fans are tired of being the embarrassment of college football. i have my own opinions and i have those opinions with indiana state as the priority. i've gotten "more from day one" so far, except from the football team.
