I think we will be good for MVC but relative to the NCAA tournament, not the case
Sycamores win 3-0 in game one of a double header.
Held SEMO to two hits. And only used two pitchers today.

Sycamores lose second game of the doubleheader, 4-1
Lost at home to IU, 9-4
We are young. I think there were four freshman in the starting lineup this game.
Some of them have talent but it will take another season before it all starts to bear fruit.
Pitching was horrible to start and still has room to improve but has gotten better.
Hopefully by the time the MVC season starts Arch will have his rotation set and will have a good idea what everyone can bring to the table.

We haven’t seen Karst for a while. I assume he’s injured. That would be unfortunate.
I thought today we were far too passive at the plate. Took way too many good pitches. I hope that’s not our approach.
Arch is clearly still searching for more guys who can hit the ball hard. Ortiz had a couple of good hits today, and hopefully Garcia will be back soon. We’ll be ok eventually but the short term will be a struggle.

I believe our starting SS and 3B are both out with injuries - do we know their status? Others?
I believe Garcia was expected to miss atleast 6 weeks and he was injured the week before the 1st game. Not sure about our 3rd baseman yet.
That's what I understood about Garcia's injury too - that'd put him pretty close to 6 weeks but I have no idea when he'd actually be able to play. If anyone has details about other injuries, let us know. Thanks.
