Feels like this is going to be a tough one to win, especially on the road. If we lose, it could be a really rough year.

It's going to be a rough year for us, regardless. We're just not as talented top to bottom as the top tier Valley teams.

This game is interesting because it will depend on how patient SEMO is offensively and how they choose to attack us. They looked to have a pretty balanced attack against SIU but when I dug into the box score a bit deeper, 6 of their 23 first downs came from penalties on SIU and they were only 4 of 18 on 3rd down conversions. I think we can win this game if our defense can find ways to limit chunk plays on 1st and 2nd down and force them into uncomfortable down and distance on 3rd downs. Our defense has been very hit or miss in the first two games, looking fantastic at times and completely lost at others.

Honestly think this is a win if we play disciplined, smart football.

The problem though is "disciplined & smart" does not appear to be in this team's vocabulary. Going to be a loooooong season.

Against the MVFC
Two of Southeast's three non-league opponents this season are from the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The Redhawks are 77-94-8 all-time against the MVFC, having faced Southern Illinois (40-36-8), Illinois State (3-7), Indiana State (4-4), Missouri State (28-46), Northern Iowa (1-1) and Western Illinois (1-0). A total of six MVFC schools are ranked in this week's Top-25 polls.

If you are in charge of your team Coach Sanford why not leave anyone who does not plan to stand at attention for the American Flag and our National Anthem in the locker room until it is over. DON'T PROVIDE A STAGE FOR THE DISCONTENTED!

I hope Coach Sanford didn't hurt anyone on the other team's feeling in any interviews this week. I would also consult SEMO's administration, athletic department, student body, fans, alumni, residents of Cape Girardeau, and the Governor of Missouri to see if there are any sacred locations on the field. Then we need to have game management put some cones or barricades around them assuming they already not blocked by velvet ropes. Otherwise the potential to disrespect any players might turn them into super heros.
