Ricky Kreklow - Mizzou Transfer

I saw that ISU is on the short list for his transfer. What is your scholarship matrix like and would he gray shirt his out year or do you have an opening.

Read that his Dad played at Drake and for the Celtics at the time Bird was there.
Kreklow's parents, Wayne and Susan, are the head coach and director of volleyball operations, respectively, for the University of Missouri women's volleyball team. Wayne Kreklow was an All-American at Drake University and played on the Boston Celtics' 1980-81 championship team. Susan Kreklow played volleyball at Central Missouri State and Southwest Missouri State.

Ricky was a 3-star prospect on Rivals and Scout coming out of high school.

I saw him in a few on TV here, but never live. He honestly didn't stick out much and picked up mainly garbage time as a Freshman. He definitely had talent coming out of high school and has great size for a guard. A 6'6" guard has a big advantage in the MVC.

I like that we are in on some of these transfers. It's great to be in the mix with the Stanfords and Floridas of the world. I hope we can land this guy!

Seems he is headed to Stanford several people stated early they were the favorite and sounds like they may bring him in.

Anytime we can be in the same boat as the likes of Stanford and Florida we are doing okay wether we land them or not.

Agreed, that last post wasn't mentioned as a badger. Several people close to him gave mentioned he really wants out of the Midwest. Until papers are signed or he says publicly what his plans are you still gave a chance.

Stanford is a top-notch school...unlike the other schools in California, getting into Stanford and graduating with a Degree almost guarantees success in life. excellent, excellent school, wish the kid the best!

Anytime that we could end up with a kid that can go to Stanford, I like our chances for future recruiting. Lansing and the staff are truly making advances for the future an this is making me really excited for the future of Sycamore basketball.:sycamores:

I remember Wayne Kreklow of Drake very well. He was a very good player but I doubt very much that he made any All-America teams unless he was Honorable Mention.

Wasn't he on the same squad w/ 6'9" BEN POQUETTE? They played us respectably, but Bird & Co. chewed their -sses in the finale!

I don't recall Kreklow being anything to fear during that era...pretty much an above avg. player at his PEAK!
