Yep, I liked it too.....I especially like the Victoria Secret aspect of it.

It was adult oriented alright, and probably not age appropriate for some.

So it is still parental responsibility to shield their kids from Adult Content, even if it's on regular TV (not cable). That's why the ole clicker has a channel changer and a on and off button.

strip shows are for strip bars, not for prime time TV. TV used to be family entertainment, but we have no morals anymore.
Anyone that would consent to a show like that at a football game is moral degenerate.

Dang backer! Moral dengenerate. Wow. I think ya got some kind of conflict going on there, or SP Jihad.

A SP blogger can't be moral, and a degenerate at the same time...it's just impossieble. Ask Daveinth, SSOM, Bankshot and Southgrad07....okay, and throw in ITF and B46 for the fun of it.

So let's score your perv rating....I think you got 1 out of 2 correct....2 out of 2 would would be Immoral Dengenerates? Right?

You keep this kind of labeling up, and you will be known as the Taliban of Sycamore Pride!!!

P.S. Were you wearing one of those towel like headbands when you composed that? If so, you need to loosen it up some....I think ya got it wrapped a lil' too tight.

I really enjoyed the halftime . I thought it was entertainment. Look the NFL is geared towards the male gender . What gets the average males blood going Football, Beer and Women. They are catering to the demographics that is the highest % of their viewership. Its good business.
Thanks Gotta Hav for the Compliment .

I'd be the first to admit that I spend way to much time and energy on SP. My time could be better spent in other aspects of my life.

But the stuff they show on TV these days is a joke. The half time show was a strip show- except it was like 3 weeks ago now and I don't know why we are still talking about it?!?! You know how many kids watch the SB? A lot!! As a parent you shouldn't have to shield your kids from watching the SB half time - it's a shame that someone that views that type of a display as indecent is being viewed as having some sort of a "conflict" it would seem to me that it would be the other way around.

I'm in no position to judge anyone though - I personally thought that the
halftime show crossed the line and that's just IMO.

I'm not going to let GottaHav lead me down that path of unrighteousness & "moral degeneration"....in fact, I'm gonna call his Mom and tell her what he's up to!:sos:

The decline in morals has led us down this path. Im not even talking about religious things.......the crap thats on TV every day, absent fathers etc.
Keeping an eye on and helping our neighbors.....a culture of people who think things are owed to them. Irritates the crap out of me.

I have a genetic disorder that was undiagnosed. I ended up having an aortic anuerism surgery and another heart surgery after that. I was working as a paramedic and police officer when all this came about. I went on Social Security disability and could be on for the rest of my life as my condition still has problems. I decided I didnt want a handout and went back to school at 40 years old. Got my teaching degree and am very proud of it.

I had a stroke before school this year and missed some time, could easily take the disability route but I went through therapy and am back at work and enjoy my students. The point is I wish those without the issues Ive dealt with and are able bodied would quit letting me and you pay their bills. Makes me crazy.
Pull yourself up, you will feel a lot better working than taking.

Sorry its off the topic, but it kinda goes with the modern day moral decay that makes it ok to do that at halftime knowing the audience will be of all ages.

I've heard that before and that is a really, stupid comment. It works fine if you have 1 TV in your house and you are always watching TV with them and the kids have parents at home.

I think when we come to the point that sports promoters and TV execs feel like they need to show vulgar trash; and the day when athletics is no longer family entertainment, it is very troubling.

I didn't watch the half timeshow... never do, but what would you rather they do at halftime. Any "relevant" artist is likely not to be kid friendly if you take a look at their lyrics, past, etc. Just curious as to what you show instead?

Also, I think it could be said that letting kids watch pro football isn't probably family friendly in the grand scheme of things if you really want to analyze it. Kids watching grown men beat the piss out of each other to the point where we now have former players suing the league that made them rich and famous in claiming they didn't realize said activity would cause permanant injury? This is not even considering the corporate sponsorships or commericals. If I were truly wanting family-friendly prime time TV, I wouldn't let my kids watch the Super Bowl.

I think you could find plenty of acts that wouldnt have to be half naked and grinding. They want to be provocative and want people to watch and see what crazy will happen next, maybe another wardrobe malfunction...etc. I get it, but Ill use my other right and watch something else until the game comes back on.

I havent seen a halftime show in a long time.

I think that's your basic devils advocate response or another person who has been decensitized. I mean I just got yelled at by my lady friend this morning because her brother texted her something about Twitter in the middle of the night (she hates social media) and I mentioned that I already saw what he put and boy it was on... Lol

That said, would you say that the opening cerimonies of the Olypics are not "PG"? I mean I can think of plenty of examples of quality entertainment in which they've stayed in between the lines.

I wouldn't really diagree with your assertion that kids watching football isn't family friendly. I guess that's why it's the right of each parent to decide what the will and won't allow their children to watch/do. But with the lack of filter on TV these days you really have to be careful.

Even at 27 (in a month) I can say that I recall a much simpler and less sinful life growing up. Times have changed and peoples acceptance has changed.

I wouldn't say I'm decensitized, it's just reality when you turn on the TV these days.

Most cable companies (and TVs for that matter) offer parental controls that can be set. I believe the Super Bowl generally is rated PG-13 in the TV guides, which doesn't lend itself to being family friendly. Dunno, but like everything, it's up the the person sitting in front of it to evaluate and filter.

I say pick the Drum Corps International World Champion Drum and Bugle Corps and let them do the halftime show. Would be a damn sight better than what we get now...
You know damn well the viewership would be a FRACTION of what it is today. The whole point of a celebrity half time show is marketing. They need to bring in the teen/young adult and woman demographic so they can sell those million dollar ads.

Do agree and understand that. Doesn't make it morally correct.

Well it's just "marketing" is a sign of desensitized in my mind. It's like your giving them a free pass since you can define why they are doing it.

No, not really. They're doing it because it makes money. That has nothing do with being desensitized IMO... that's marketing/business. If family-friendly programming sold and made truckloads of cash, they'd be doing that. It doesn't -- marketing/ad execs have numbers that back that up.

Doesn't make it right, but I question the intelligence of said individuals trying to equate it to an event and sport that is built around money.

I think its down to you have options. If you don't like it watch something else. This world is built around making money and hot women sell tickets. Do you honestly think that if Faith Hill was some 300 lbs toothless woman she would be singing that song for the opening of Sunday night football? Hell no people tune on to see her shake her ass that's why she is there. If people don't like that part of the show they simply tune in later. Which is basically what they are telling you. Just because you may not like it doesnt mean several million people do not find it entertaining
