I'm planning on going and probably going to get a group of XC/Track alums to join in - we considered doing our own tailgating thing - I'm personally thinking that this will be better than anything we could/would have pulled together.

Well, I've got some questions. Is this more of a tent or really a tailgate. It says there will be a cash bar, so will over 21 folks be allowed to tow in a cooler? Define dinner? I'll probably shoot some questions over to Darrin at the Foundation.

I'm going to the game with about 9-11 of my ISU buddies... but won't be at the tailgate. We are going to do our own tailgate. Can't wait, should be a great game!

Can't decide what I am going to do. I am going down, I am going to have some fun, but I am not entirely sure. Boda let us know what you find out.

I am not inclined to believe that the foundation tailgate will be all that impressive...I hope so, I have just been too disappointed by too many times by ISU in general. Hopefully it will be great!

I ordered 5 tickets today through Hulman Center. I asked them if they had any idea how many tickets had been sold and they said no. I then asked have you sold at least 50 and she responded-- maybe. I sure hope our crowd is much larger than that. We have gone to IU the last two times ISU played there. The first time ISU took band, sparkettes and cheerleaders. They even performed pregame. It really helped with ISU fan enthusiasm. The second time- no band and much smaller ISU crowd overall. I hope that ISU is planning on taking the band even if they do not perform on the field. If money is an issue- they each could use their student card and get into the game for five dollars. IU does let students from the other school to also use IDs for 5 dollars. It would be nice to have band and cheerleaders at ISU tailgate tent.

I hope they do as well. Did the foundation put on the tailgate at the Penn State game last year? That was a quality pre-game (and a prime location), but in part due to Tailgatin' Tom's presence and grillin'. The band and cheerleaders/Sparkettes always add to the pregame experience. I will be there with some family, but not sure where to tailgate--maybe the foundation's tailgate will be the place to be?

I am going with my wife and one other to the tailgate and game. It is my understanding that they have rented a tent and space from IU. It is important to support these types of events and if you would like to see something different or an improvement, please pass it along. Unless guests and alums attend events and get feedback there is no way to make them better. Also they have worked on sponsorships to get the cost down. Without the sponsors in place this event would likely cost nearly $30 per person. Support the football team and university. If you feel like you suggestions and critques will fall on deaf ears, feel free to send them to me. I will make sure they personally get into the right hands. Although I do perfer to put a real name and email on a suggestion so if it wants to be discussed someone might call you. Trust me, it has happened to me.

If anyone has any questions, I will be compiling everything and sending it over to Darrin later today so throw them up in here now.

Do they have beer included in the cost? If not can I BYOB - sorry I'm from Terre Haute its just what you do. What is the LIVE entertainment. The ISU pep band is more of a given than LIVE entertainment - its almost false advertising. What is on the menu? Bally pizza and I'm all in!

I appreciate your interest in the ISU @ IU tailgate. I’m waiting to hear back from IU about allowing fans to BYOB to the tailgate area. Unfortunately because we are on IU property we have to follow their strict tailgating rules. I will follow up with you on all of the details very soon, due to the fact we are negotiating with a few people on some issues.

Got a response from Darrin. Looks like they're still working out the details, so when he lets me know, I'll be sure to post them.

Is there such a thing as a tailgate without alcohol?? Either way, I will be bringing my own; maybe I'll have to "attend" two different tailgates.

My Son and I are going to the game. Not sure about the tailgate yet. By that time my Son will officially be an ISU student. Go Blue.
