Indiana State gets no respect in the MVFC. We could go undefeated and still get picked to finish middle of the pack the next season.

Not sure that we should get any respect yet. You have to earn that first... win some games, and the respect will come.

Well said Sackalot. I'll bet that none of the out of state voters have knowledge of the elements of this Sycamore team that have many of us very excited about the upcoming season. Given our history, I don't blame them. I expect post season results to differ from the preseason polls.

The better question is "Why would you not pick the Sycamores last ?". Show the wins then expect some respect; not the other way around............potential is just that..potential.

Exactly... LOL! Seems like a no brainer huh? I mean come on, like 1 win qualifies to be ranked ahead of anyone? Please spare us that argument. I think most in here are supportive of the program, however have no time or energy to listen to excuses...

When was the last time a preseason poll meant anything to the Indiana State Sycamores football team? Now maybe in Basketball or Track and Filed Conference Championships it's a decent indicator to take a look at. But we are in no position to even care what a poll says about us. It should really come to no surprise that we were picked to finish any place other than last.

We ought to just be glad that they include is in the rankings at all... That's an indicator that we are still alive...
 
nice to see our friend and Terre Haute resident Saloookiman give his annual thumbs up to the ISU football program, little does he know that someday, sooner, rather than later, SIU will return to the bottom of MVFC football, much like their basketball team has plummeted to the bottom.

I can't see ISU beating SIU this season yet, but the day it does finally happen again, all heck will break loose in Carbondump, they'll probably finally burn the place down.

I am sure not going to lose any sleep over what some Saluki fan thinks. Their hoops program is in the toilet and there football, new stadium or not, is not heading in the right direction by ANY means, so let him blow off his ignorant steam all he wants.

OK, I will correct myself when I am wrong. Although there is no doubt that their basketball program is in the toilet, my thoughts that their football program was heading the wrong direction, might have been slightly misguided and possibly wishful thinking. Upon further review, they are still good. That said, they have some of the most obnoxious and rude fans I have ever seen having been to Carbondale, once as a cheerleader and several times as a spectator. Not once in my 40 years of watching collegiate football, have I ever seen more CLASSLESS fans than those idiots in Carbondale.

I can now sleep at night.

Glad to see Archie and Hardy getting some recognition. People recognize that our defense is pretty solid and getting better.
