Bally #50

The JSW Level
I am assuming that many of you are headed to Memorial Stadium for the Quincy game this Saturday. Just trying to get a feel for what to expect for the usual pre-game celebrations. First of all, anything planned already? Boda, are you planning on setting up camp, or anyone else on SP? As usual, I am scrambling to round up a group to come down for the BIG game from Indy. Two of my Terre Haute posse ironically, are going to be in Indy and aren't going. Anyone from SP heading to TH from Indianapolis? I also may have an extra ticket if anyone is interested. I was so proud of the team I decided to buy TWO season tickets this season. I was happy to do that as I consider it to be more of a donation than anything else.

Let me know what the plans are. Anyone else as excited as I am to get this home season off to a good start?

I'll be setting up the big tent, providing I remember how. Chickened out of putting it up at iu, because it had only been put up once before in my parents' back yard. We'll have lots of food and beverages of all kinds. We'll also be grilling again after the game. Everyone is welcome to stop by, grab a bite to eat and a beverage of one's choosing. Once again, everyone is welcome!

I am planning on setting up shop in the area Tailgatin' Tom made famous. Anyone is more than welcome to drop by and shoot the breeze. I won't be staying after the game as I have to get out to the field campus for an event, but I plan on being there early on Saturday.

Yeah, but I have a couple of weddings this month that will cut into the last two weekends. Still going to tailgate before going to one of them!

I had a tent set up today where we (Tailgating Tom's old crew) tailgated last year. It's a 10x20 rental with sides in case of bad weather. There will also be a trailer, grill, plenty of adult beverages, burgers, hot dogs, music, etc. ALL are welcome to join us....we had a Great turnout in the Purple Lot last week, let's keep raising the bar! Look for the American and Sycamore flag flying high!

Will be out of town this week... any my Tailgating partner just had a heart-attach over the weekend (he just got home last night)... so our spot will be open on the East side this year for the first time in probably 3 years...

Well since my Kentucky Whitetail hunt unexpectedly ended 4 days short of when it was supposed to I will be at the game and I hope to make my tailgating rounds. I will gladly continue to vent about how much I can't stand IU fans and about how we were the better football team last Saturday. Still not over that loss.

I doubt that you will ever will be totally over it.

The Indiana State Sycamores will open the home portion of their football schedule for the 2012 campaign on Saturday, September 8 against Quincy at 2:05 p.m. (ET) and plenty of pregame tailgate activities are planned with local businesses offering several opportunities for pregame entertainment before fans enter Memorial Stadium for the contest.

The Copper Bar will have a tailgating area for all fans which will open at 10:30 a.m. on the stadium grounds near the main entrance to the facility. They will offer a full bar as well as a family friendly area with soda and water for purchase.

J. Gumbos will also be on site beginning at 12:30 p.m. and will be serving up a variety of their most popular Cajun dishes including Bourbon Street Chicken, Voodoo Chicken, and Drunken Chicken.

A third area will also open at 12:30 p.m. and will be sponsored by Midwest Communications, 7th and Elm Bar and Grille as well as Pepsi. Midwest Communications will have several of their on-air personalities present before the game to provide live entertainment before the game with food provided by 7th and Elm to include wings, brats, and beer.

Pepsi will also be in this area just outside the main entrance to the stadium to provide soft drinks.

Tickets are required for admission to the Midwest Communications/7th and Elm/Pepsi area , and can be picked up at each of the following locations until game day

Good too see the new radio package with 98.5,102.7 and 100.7 really promoting ISU football! Their promos for the tailgating before each home game airs about every 15 minutes on the stations. Hopefully it leads to a great crowd and a true football tailgating tradition!

Special shout out to freshmen families

I'd like to send out special invites to all the freshmen families to stop by our tent and introduce yourselves, grab some chicken, sloppy joes, hot dogs, adult as well as regular beverages. I remember how hard it was as the family of a freshmen player to start meeting other players' families. The Gefferts welcomed us with open arms, and I'd like to pay it forward. As I said before, I got a 10 or 12 by 20ft tent with sides. It says " Indiana State Football" on it. Hopefully we'll have the sycamore flags flying, or attatched to top of tent. It will also be set up around where gefferts parked, for those freshmen families, that's across from the locker rm. There will also be another 10 x 10 tent with it for overflow. Hope to meet some of the new family members tomorrow!

Sadly, my trip to Terre Haute got caught in a time-crunch and I will have to wait to next week to see the TREES plays again. I hope you SP members at the game can keep us informed. Hopefully Boda's battery is charged up and ready for some serious communication. A huge victory would cheer me up. I haven't missed a home opener in a decade or more. I just could not squeeze everything I needed to do in the time allotted. GO SYCAMORES.
