Might as well get this one out of the way now since it was mentioned in another thread but Tanner plans on transferring. Good luck to Tanner and his family wherever he lands. Sucks to lose such a good board member in his mom -- we need to keep posters, not lose them.

Wow! That's awful. Tanner is one heck of a kicker, he'll be hard to replace. And his mom is the greatest! I really enjoyed her perspectives on here.

Merry f-ing Christmas...

Oh yes, I'd wish Tanner good luck, but he won't need it. He'll be just fine...

One of the things I worry about with NEXT year's Sycamores is just how many players will "stick" with the program as it is laid out by coach Sanford. I like him and hope he stays for a long time, but I sense that some players may not be on board with the program after a dismal and VERY disappointing season. If we start losing people like Tanner (and of course, I wish him well-- and mean it), and some other ones that I hear may depart, will everything disintegrate for coach? I sure hope not but this departure makes me think the flood gates may have opened.

What is it with kickers leaving the program? This is twice now in like three or four seasons. The last one seemed to be due to Miles.

I too wish Tanner a lot of luck. Has really grown over the past couple of years. Unfortunately, this will not be the only loss. Not sure if it is reflective of players being on board or our coaches not acknowledging the true talent they have on this team. They seem to have resisted playing players from Miles era ...and played players from JUCo or who they recruited.

It's unfortunate Tanner didn't stay healthy this year after having a fantastic year last year. I'm sure the coaches are evaluating the scholarships they have available and trying to bring in as much talent as they can. Our special teams were down this year after we got spoiled with Hileman and Tanner, who both receive all conference recognition. The bottom line, though, is if you have scholarship players that aren't able to get on the field, the coaches are going to wind up looking hard at that. I wish Tanner all the best, and we'll miss the great tailgates with his Mom. Like I've said many time, if we are going to add JUCOs they have to be able to contribute right away--that didn't happen so much this year. If you look around the league other teams have had very good success with some positions (OL and cornerback kind of stick out), but also many JUCOs that don't play. Like HS recruiting, it's still a crapshoot to find a diamond in the rough.

Lack of accountability and discipline will lead to many defections. This could be the cycle of starting all over again, again. And the next year they probably will have to start all over again, again. Defections, pulled scholarships will lead to more upheaval. We need to win or break even next year or pull the plug.

This has been refuted multiple times by player's parents on the board. Are you saying they are lying?
