You have had Jarvis, Odum, McGill. Over the last 4 seasons, they have had at least 2 guys 6'6" or bigger out there shooting 3's. IMO, they need to be under the basket posting up instead of outside the arc, but that's Saylor's gameplan, and it's easy for other teams to gameplan for it.

Those 6'6" guys were scrubs except for Worrell who has always been a jump shooter. South has not had any good big guys since Saylors been there. He adjusted his system to what he has. I dont like how they pass up layups for 3's but I understand shooting them as much as possible if open. Their 4 best players Odums senior year were McGill, Jarvis, Mcyntire, and Odum. So 4/5 of your starters were perimeter players. (The other was a 6 foot dwfwnsive guy) They made it to the Regional Championship game and lost to the eventual state champion.

Easy to prepare for? Love him or hate him, he's like 90 some and 50 some as a head coach in the toughest conference in the Midwest.

If my son was like a Jarvis, I would love the offense. I would have a problem if he was Greg Oden though and we played like that.

His offense is easy to prepare for. You just guard the 3 point line, and you just beat them. They don't have an inside game, and this year we are bigger and faster than South.

Whatever man. The one problem is he hasn't got beat that much! WV doesn't have an inside game either and live and die by the three. You have one guy taller than South and honestly, he's no world beater. South is quicker in my opinion.

No, Scotty West just got 31 points by shooting 3's. We actually drive the lane instead of standing outside the 3pt line. We have a guy at 6'6" and a guy at 6'3". Does South even have a guy over 6 foot?

Lyons listed at 6'5, and Crowther is about 6'1. I just saw him the other day and he wasn't much taller than me. They have a guy listed at 6'4, one at 6'3, and 6 others listed at 6'0-6'2.

South doesn't have a guy at 6'4". And Crowther is 6'3", because Thornton is 6'1" and Crowther is taller than him. Plus, I was there when they were measured.

Sure you were. If he's 6'3, I've grown at least 3 inches in my old age. Thornton is not 6'1 either. Maybe 6'0.

I expected West Vigo to at least keep the deficit under 10, but our turnovers killed us all night. It was errant pass after errant pass all night.

South's defense had a lot to do with it. 22 steals. WV couldn't handle the speed and athleticism of South.

It really wasn't the speed, it was mainly the way they got into the passing lanes, and knocked away lazy passes. If we could have handled that defense, the outcome might have been different.

Why do you think they were on the passing lane. Shooting % also affected because South had the speed to recover to shooters. If they played 10 times, South wins 9 and this is a sub-par South team although they're better than I thought.

...With all that "trashing" being said, Coach Saylor is gone after this season and a new coach will come in!

I'm still trying to figure out why they ever hired the former Ron Greene ISU hoop "Dark Ages" assistant? Anyone that puts MEXICO on their basketball coaching resume must be stretching hard!:krazy:

Maybe it was the collaborative "Brian Evans" video that brought in million$?
BTW, where is Evans now...next in line for the THS job?

Really thought South had more intensity than WV last night. They got rebouds and loose balls the whole game after the first quarter. They were quick and also played the normal South defense, trap and grab, the referees are only going to call 1 of 3 fouls at most. When WV did get a good shot they were hurried and not relaxed at all.30% from the field won't win many games.
