Teams who need to upgrade at Punter: KC and Texans.

Although I'm not a Chiefs fan, I have no choice but to pay attention to them here in KC. With that being said, I can assure you KC is not looking for a punter. Dustin Colquitt is an outstanding punter...one of the best in the league. He's here to stay in KC for quite some time.

he is not one of the best but according to other peeps so was Weatherford, a Punter is never an un-droppable asset.

Full disclosure...I am acquaintances with Dustin Colquitt, so my opinion is a little biased. I don't see much value in arguing punter value because their stats largely rely on the other special teams players, but I'll just give you his rank as of last year's season in the major punting categories:

Yards - 3,908 (6th)
Long - 72 yards (1st)
Average - 44.4 yards (12th)
Punts Inside the 20 - 33 (4th)

Colquitt doesn't have a monster leg, but puts a nasty spin on the ball and returners rarely gain yards against him. He's also in the 3rd year of a 5-year deal, which is fairly team-friendly at $1.5M a season especially considering that the Chiefs are so far under the cap.

He's not going anywhere.

I read at a very reliable source that KC was looking punter, alot of rotational type players play in KC so the thought of them wanting a top tier punter to go along side is a good thought for them. I hope Colquitt stays on so we have the only brother tandem at the same position in the nfl. (his brother plays for the broncos as a punter)

Who is the 'we?' Didn't all of the Colquitts punt for the Vols?
