It is only TWO days away but there are still a limited number of FREE tickets available for the 5th Annual Out-of-Towner's game (ISU vs. DRAKE) this Saturday. They can be ordered through the ISU ALUMNI OFFICE (1-800-258-6478) or can be picked up at the BALLYHOO why supplies last. Pre-game festivities begin at the Bally at 11:00am and will continue following the 2:05pm game. Hope to see many of you there! GO TREES!

Don't screw this up ISU

I'm assuming this post is serious that many of the free tickets have been picked up, but I sure hope ISU does not actually turn away ANYONE that day even if "all" the free tickets have supposedly been taken.
Thanks very much to the business folks in Terre Haute who put this together. But the actual crowds who show up and use these tickets are many, many fewer than the "sellouts" that are often reported. There will be plenty of available places to sit in Hulman Center that day (unfortunately) so please please let anyone and everyone who shows up that day in.
I'd love to be there but have to work, but Go Sycamores !

Screw it up?

They already have.... lol While supplies last my ass, when was the last time that Indiana State ran out of ticket supplies - why even try and make it sound like that is a hot ticket in town? I mean seriously.... That's a joke if you ask me and I love me some Sycamores... lol

From what I gather, there is a limited number - this isn't a "sell-out" game there's only an allotment that's been donated to this event. The only sell-out here is you. :naughty:

Sorry -- the point is

Just a few years ago we had one of these "free" ticket days -- apparently all the tickets were picked up and when people showed up that day at Hulman Center without a ticket they were turned away -- even though there were SEVERAL THOUSAND empty seats inside -- a PR disaster !

Point is -- let anyone and everyone in that day -- it will be OK. We might have the ACTUAL largest crowd of the season, but don't worry about there not being seats for everyone.

Go Sycamores !

Explanation!

Sycamorestateofmind, First of all, this is not like a Serve-Pro sellout game. The owner of the Ballyhoo has graciously purchased for YOUR consumption 1,000 tickets as part of the Out-of-Towner's Classic which is an annual event co-sponsored by the Ballyhoo and the Central Indiana ISU Alumni Chapter, an event that has become somewhat of a winter homecoming. There are, in fact, a limited number of tickets available out of the 1000. These tickets have actually been distributed and the VAST majority of people that have taken the time to pick them up, will use them. If you have a problem with generous alumni that donate their time and money, then fine but this is a great event that likely will be attended by 800-1,000 people. If you prefer to pay for your ticket, yes, there will be MANY available at the box office. Calling yourself a Sycamore fan seems more like a joke to me than what tickets may or may not be available. People that bust their ass for our alma mater on a regular basis likely would agree with me.

Whew...has the smoke cleared? Talk about a "fire brewed" explanation.

Have fun Saturday & yell like hell @ HC!

It has nothing to do with me but everything to do about guys like Dave at the Bally and the owner of Serve-Pro who both are so generous to Indiana State and are only trying to get our fans excited about ISU basketball and possibly allow some people to attend who may not be able to afford it normally. His comment just hit me wrong.

And Trust me, I will have a tremendous time ALL day long in beautiful downtown Terre Haute.

Cant wait, going to be a great time, any former players coming back for this?? I think that is something that we should try to tie into this "Event" to get even more people involved!!! Hope to see some old friends at the Bally on Saturday morning, afternoon and night!!
