Jay doesn't play enough minutes. Why did McKenna wait until the last several games to realize that this SENIOR is for real? All year long he has had a short leash on Jay. Stop yanking him out every time he doesn't block out or get a rebound. We need Jay in there as much as we need Harry!

Jay was very deserving of this award and he may have had the best back to back games in the entire country!

Maybe Jay has had injuries all year and coach has been saving him, did you think about that?

Wasn't it obvious during so many games when he scored a lot of our points in the beginning of the game & then we would either sit him on the bench or stop going to him for most the rest of the game.

Yeah coach pulled him when he made a mistake...it was a good opportunity to rest him...

Why else would you sit one of your impact players?

Way to go Jay!

hussle,

I would give you some props on your point about Tunnel having injuries and that the coaches were just saving him, but until recently, the coaches were yanking out everybody for every little mistake and it was part of the reason we could not get a rythym. Harry was the only exception (Reed's leash was longer than others as well). My point was that Jay, as a proven senior, should also have been an exception to the "yanking out for every little mistake philosophy."

Truth be told, any player who has played organized basketball knows that it is difficult to play with confidence when you are being pulled out of the game every time you make a mistake. Not only were they pulling them out, the coaches acted like the players were complete idiots. In a nutshell, what was going on was that you had players looking over their shoulders the entire time they were in the game and there was absolutely no rythym. Hopefully the coaches have learned their lesson and they don't go back to their previous philosophy when it gets down to crunch time in the conference tournament.
