I feel that Curtis should be the one on the chopping block. The decline in enrollment has occurred under her watch. Some other in state schools are reporting record attendance. It is going to be difficult to turn this around. It seems that when ISU had a surging attendance that we were really encouraging kids from the Wabash Valley and surrounding areas to choose ISU. It seems that we no longer target what should be a no brainer. I am all in for students everywhere wanting to come to ISU, but I feel we are no longer the first choice of the local graduates. If we can not sell ourselves to the locals, then it is going to be very difficult to sell ourselves to others.

My buddy had a great analogy. ISU is Hardee's. We Started off as Burger Chef..and we were really good at what we did well..burgers (teaching, nursing, etc). Then we started to add more things to the menu to try to compete with Wendy's and Burger King, and even McDonalds. Then we were all over the place, our menu got too big, Fried Chicken, pizza pockets, hot dogs... we lost our identity, lost our focus. Now here we are. And frankly I like Hardee's a lot, it's a really good hamburger. But no one wants to try our Hamburgers anymore.

Burger Chef is a poor analogy - considering its' been defunt for nearly 30 years; pick a current restaurant

Haven't reviewed the "current menu" in a few years but the only new adds that spring to mind are some in the Health-Human Services College
