Just came off the wire that Vette is leaving Iowa State. Not sure where he is headed or if he is going to continue his basketball career. From the first game I saw of Martin, I was not all that upset at losing Vette. I don't think he would have fit in here with what Coach wants to do or the type of offense he wants to run.
I have never understood these kids who take official visits to a college, go to games, see the dorms, work out with the team, etc. and then get there and are homesick and leave. Wouldn't you have a clue that this was a strong possibility before you signed and arrived on campus? I think too many kids are lured by the name of the school, the conference they play in and/or the glamour of the arena and never stop to think long term about the fact that this campus (not just the arena) will be home for the next several years.
I wish him the best of luck and still think he made a mistake leaving us to go to ISU but I hope we don't end up trying to bring him here, because I don't think it would be a good match. Thoughts anyone......?
