This board is composed of mature, logical & connected individuals that is beyond the "What if", the no-thought emotional responce and the personal attacks found on the other board. Everyone here is excited, I'm sure, and celebrating in their own way. --Percentage-wise I'll bet this board contributes more to the university and attends more games than the other board. Most of the time "quiet maturity" is an asset. You can sit here at the adult table, sit at the kids' table....or you can do both. Your choice.
Really Tony? Are you really still pissed I won't let you spam your site over and over? Hell, that's all that gets posted over at the SHF anymore anyway -- links to your site. I spend countless hours following our teams and scouring the Internet finding information to post for everyone to read. To insult me is one thing, but to insult fellow members of the Sycamore family is unacceptable... and to use an eliteist comment about who contributes more to the University is just down right despicable.

You are no longer welcome here.

Not going to get into a who is better than who debate because just looking at the number of activity and such it's a dumb debate. As for the "Percentage-wise I'll bet this board contributes more to the university and attends more games than the other board" comment I about died laughing. Spare me. Tony is just mad people have jumped his sinking ship. Personaly it's good to have two ISU sites. As long as folks are excited I don't care wether it's here or "there". This is my home and it always will be...now lets talk about this little dancing thing we are about to do!

I was really shocked when I read that thread over there. I've never seen such an arrogant group of postings in my life. "We're better, more mature, and wealthier than the people on the other board..." Frankly, it kinda made me sick...:jawdrop:

Don't think I'll go back over there...:(...and I posted there for over 10 years...

By the way Jason, can we sit anywhere we want at the kiddie table and can we draw on the table because that's really fun!

Boda, as I am sure you noticed, I entered the frey on that comment as well on the Hoop Forum yesterday. I think it takes time to "adjust" to Pride but once you get used to it, there is a lot of good people and good topics here but of course, you need to block out of some it as well.

A problem that has creeped up here in the last five days or so....? There is too much information being contributed. It almost is too much on here right now if you are attempting to stay current on everything.

Sure. There is an ignore list, so if there is a member that you don't want to read, that is an easy way to filter them out. I know several members take advantage of that.

As a graduate of the MIS program from State, I say there is no such thing as too much information. That said, I'm not sure how you browse the boards, but there are tons of ways to do so, so it may be beneficial to browse individual forums as opposed to clicking on "New Posts" in the navigation bar. Is there something specfic you can point to? It may be a case of the moderators just needing to merge topics more frequently or something else we can tweak.

ummmmm WTF? It's not even like comparable it's like trying to buy a tv and wondering whether you should go to Best Buy or CVS

Personally, I LOVE the fact that the board is buzzing! I hate nothing more than to surf over to my favorite Sycamore board and find nothing new. I enjoy the interaction and I love that I can cuss and dis-cuss with folks on a variety of issues.

I just love it, I guess...

Personally, I have never been to the other forum until today. My first thought was, "is this a joke!!" I mean come on folks, our site is far and away the better one. Not only do the topics seem to be better here, but I think our setup is much better. I actually think Sycamorepride.com has the best setup of any of the Valley forums. We are lucky and thanks to you Jason! (:

i'm not bashing the other board at all, because the more people that talk about the sycamores the more people that care about the sycamores, which is always a good thing. but i have never even heard of the other board before this thread. i thought this was the only one, needless to say i won't be spending anytime over there after checking it out for 5 minutes.

That's how I am. If I go away for awhile, I want to come back to a bunch of posts. Further, the whole point of a discussion forum is multiple viewpoints, no matter how (in)sane they are -- that's what makes life fun! If everyone shared the same exactly philosophy and posted the same exact stuff, there would be no need for places like this anyhow.

Jason since volume has been so high I think it's necessary that moderators do a better job of this. Maybe they don't know how? But I had a few personal messages that said, "why have you not done your thoughts on the games thread this weekend" and I have but we have had so many threads created that they have faded fast. Not a complaint, it's a good problem to have I guess. Just some of the topics we have, could have probably been merged.

With that being said, it's really nice to have "a bunch" of people trying to generate conversation than just a few...

Can you give an example of one that should have been merged? Not trying to be argumentative, just seriously looking for something that I might have missed.. I'll try to be more diligent about that in the future. It's tough when there was a buzz like last week... most of the weekend I was on my phone and don't have moderator controls through Tapatalk.

Ah... just saw a merge of the "NCAA Selection Show" threads... very good.
Ok, I'll try to watch for that more often.

Tony is missing the entire point...Sycamore Fans talking about things in an open forum whether that is basketball, football, issues on campus, issue off campus but that can have an impact on the ISU campus is a good thing. Whether it is over on the hoopsforum or it is here on this much more professional and more well organized site is not the point either. The point is that the conversations are occuring. The point is that alumni and fans are discussing things...the point is that many on the ISU campus (administrators and staff) are reading and in some cases making changes.

And lastly....I would love to have any one person (other than Jason) say to me that they do more than I do for ISU. Sure I can't make it to every game (I live 2 hours away and have 3 children under 7). But, I dedicate hours upon hours of my time to ISU. I probably spend 15 hours per week doing things for ISU in some capacity whether that is planning events for students on campus, meeting with alumni association, planning events for the Alumni Association, making suggestions to administrators, visiting campus for meetings that I am invited too, etc. Just because you go to a game or just because you write a check for $300 once a year doesn't mean that you are an AMAZING contributor to ISU, it certainly helps as all donations, all attendance do help tremendously. But don't question the loyalty and involvement of people that love ISU! It is counterproductive, it is pointless and it does nothing but cause bad blood. We all love ISU or we wouldn't post on either board regularly.

This site has progressed into a very good site probably one of the best in the country . It is maintained well we do have arguments but hell at least we don't have the damn political section anymore LOL . The one thing about this site is this regardless of weather you like a person or not when a jerk off like Valley Fanatic comes on here and shows his ass the whole damn Sycamore Nation beats him back into his hole and that's what makes this site special Great Job Jason appreciate the work you do here and I like it at the kids table the food fights are more fun here

What happened to that Jerkoff? I love how he says things like "Thats a fun thought but not the truth" when he could have just been like, "Ya got me, ya caught the tater, but hey like you wouldn't?" and we prolly all would have been like "true". I am a tool, I admit that lol

I'm just glad to have a place to talk to other Sycamore fans. Down here in my kneck of the woods, ISU doesn't have a huge following. Everybody talks UofL, IU, or UK.
