Somebody is playing games for it was mentioned back in November that the bone structure had healed and that it was just the nerve regeneration that needed to be rehabilitated. There is nothing new in tonight's "breaking news" it is the same ole song and dance. The timing of this "announcement" is suspect as well when all the Indy TV stations are having interviews with Luck on today's news segments. This whole situation is really starting to stink.

How about peterson and a 1st for manning from the cardinals? I would do that if I was the colts...

I know the odds are not favoring Peyton's return but I also know that there is wiggle room on that date of the bonus. I also know that the national media thinks everything is all sealed and he is history. I will come back and admit I am wrong and if I am way off base here -- But there are ways he can return. Peyton certainly wants to return as a Colt, he has made no bones about that. Jim has said as much as well in the last few days. I just think this is not over with. Only time will tell.

I hope you are right...something just seems really wrong about him being in another uniform....

I'd be happy if all those so-called sports media-types that are all-knowing were just WRONG. They act like this whole story is signed and delivered and I don't really think it is. Like I say, I am likely wrong, but Jim Irsay says he wants Peyton if he can play, and Peyton says "I want to always be a Colt." No one is running him out of town here, he loves Indy and God knows Indy loves him and he has said all along that he would love to end his career here. Somehow I feel that Jim and Peyton aren't blowing smoke here. And fricking Luck said he would love to learn the game from Peyton. Come on here...this isn't a dream here, they have ALL said it in recent interviews.

Yeah I really am torn on who to believe

Peyton has not passed our physical nor has he been cleared to play for The Indianapolis Colts. Team statement coming on Friday.

The saga continues. It really sounds like that Irsay wants Manning to retire, but Manning does not want to retire, a Brett Favre situation is on the horizon. Manning had to give the ok to release his medical information no doctor would do that on their own. The two sides need to call a truce and settle this behind closed doors and release a public statement. It would be great if Manning can play for only the Colts but some of the best QB's in history played for more than one team such as Namath, Unitas, Montana and Favre.

My take on the Peyton Manning issue.....

Okay folks. I know people are going to ask me about ESPN's report on Peyton Manning being released to play by his surgeon. Here's what I know and can tell you: The problem has never been the neck, per se. The spinal fusion surgery was a success. It's healed, or is healing, properly. It's ALWAYS been about the nerve re-generation in the muscles in his neck, upper back and arms. Nerve re-generation is important because it leads to strength in his right (passing) arm. Right now there is reportedly some atrophy in his muscles due to the surgery. That's normal. And it takes time for the nerves to recover and re-generate, which leads to improved arm strength. There is no set time period for how long it takes nerves to re-generate. For some people, it's quicker. For others, it takes longer. Everbody is different. I have spoken with ESPN's injury reporter, Stephania Bell, on numerous occasions about Manning's recovery. She pointed me to a study that the team neurosurgeon of the Pittsburgh Steelers conducted on elite athletes who have had the same surgery as Peyton. They studied 14 elite athletes, eight being NFL players. The average time of nerve re-generation was anywhere from nine weeks to one full year from the time of the initial surgery. Manning's surgery was on Sept. 8, 2011.
