It was fun to witness John Wooden bring his UCLA Bruins for a game, at the Arena, against the Sycamores and Duane Kleuh.
Mr. Woz.....I have the game program from that one.....they won the NCAA in 65.

All Waltman years for me too, but unfortunately that was from 2001 to 2005. I never saw ISU finish above 8th place in the MVC, and I was there for 3 single-digit win seasons.

Let’s just say seats in the student section were pretty easy to come by.

Discussing old coaches brings up a familiar appeal....if inappropriate, I apologize in advance.
I collect old ISU basketball programs. I need the following home game programs from the Bird years......
HOF Classic 12-3/4-1976, Drake 12-28-1976, Czechoslovakia exhibition 11-14-1977 and New Mexico State MVC tourney game
3-3-1978. That would complete the home games for the Bird years. How's this for a long shot....I need a program for the
1946 National Intercollegiate Basketball Tourney to complete the run of 12 NIBC/NAIA tournaments that ISU participated in.....
I will buy or trade....at this stage I will pay dearly.....Can anybody help an old man?????
For those local to T.H., get in touch....I will gladly show you this stuff....some good old memories.
Thanx for reading my desperate appeal!!!!! Get in touch....
P.S. ISC/ISU finished lst once (1950), 2nd twice, 3rd once and 4th once...all 12 tournaments were 32 team, single
elimination affairs in Kansas City.

I've been watching ISU my whole life. Royce Waltman is the first coach I remember and it looks like he took over when I was two years old. The first meaningful thing that ISU did that I can remember was beat a ranked IU team 72-67 at the Human Center. I was too young to remember the 2000 and 2001 seasons.

Royce Waltman for me. 2002-2006. Had some fun moments sprinkled in amongst mostly garbage seasons. The last season was interesting starting 8-0, then Moss got injured and the wheels fell off. Only won 5 games the rest of the year i believe. Ahhhh, the good ol' days. LOL

McKenna wasn't very well known or liked around campus from my recollection - it always seemed like this was a stepping stone for him and he wasn't all that personable. But that was a long time ago in my life I can't remember those years all that well tbh.
I think McKenna was always viewed as an outsider and the final mark against him was leaving the way he did, but I've always appreciated him for at least being the one to end the eight-year losing streak.

I was a freshman Dillards last season, then Royce. When I returned for my master's it was Mckennas last season and then Lansing.

You mean the constant bitching and cane waving hadn't already tipped you off?
