On the contrary. Rankin never did anything to undermine the spirit and reputation of our university. Our status grew from college to university and enrollment soared under his administration.
It’s not passing the buck. Have you forgotten about how Curtis ruined our homecoming tradition among other things? The rapid decline of enrollment? The lack of attention to alumni outcries?
How can you not recognize that Curtis is wrong for this job? How can you possibly defend her?
Rankin had the luxury of presiding over Ind State College from 1965-1975.
Quick, tell me ONE thing in America during that period that DRAMATICALLY increased college enrollment across the 50 states?
If Rankin was so phenomenal, he'd have told Slim to process the application to join the MAC - NOW!
The hare-brained idea to create a new conference from nothing was chasing fools' gold.
If Curtis is to blame for all ills, poor decisions during her tenure -- EVERY ISU President carries that same yoke.
Remember, the buck stops with the (Univ.) Pres.

If the MAC was the best answer for ISC, ISU in the late 1960s, why blame Slim Chalmers?
