My pick is Murray State. I believe it was last season they went to the CWS, and the tournament is at their place. They just seem like the team to beat in my opinion. Not too sold on us after that dud of a weekend against Belmont, but the conference does seem very down compared to usual. UIC is the #1 seed, but they have a losing record overall. SIU and Evansville are also suspect with losing records overall. Illinois State, who has the best overall record in the MVC, could be a sleeper if they can knock off Murray State in the first round.
It's also worth mentioning that Murray State is 20-8 at home this season, while everyone else in the conference, except for us, has a losing road record this season.

I selected 2-2. You have to have pitching in a tournament and we have very little.
But which team does?
Considering we could not win three games in a row at any point in the conference season, my vote was 2-2.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to win three in a row to win the tourney.
We won 6 in a row at the end of April, including a sweep of Horizon winners Wright State (155 RPI would be 3rd in MVC). So the team can string together some wins.
Sure your point of sweeps in conference stands, but we also won’t be playing the same team 3 times in a row.
I’m optimistic for 3-0 or 3-1.

Murray State wins games two so State plays the Racers later today.
MSU uses one pitcher and lets him go the distance with over 130 pitches.

Evansville eliminates the Redbirds 6-3 and will play another elimination game later tonight.
As always in a double elimination tournament. Winning game 1 tonight will be huge. Not the best match-up with Murray who is playing at home. But hey, we are 2-1 in this situation already might as well make it 3-1
UIC crushed Southern Illinois 11-1
Best case scenario for the other four remaining teams is for Murray to lose tonight and earlier tomorrow morning so the crowd is a non-factor on Fri night and the weekend
