With the Big Blue Block Party and the first practices of the year in the rear view mirror, who would be in your Fave 5 if the season started today? Bonus points go to those who also post their "big" and "small" lineups as well. Let's see 'em!

G-Jake Kelly
G-Harry Marshall
G- Dwayne Lathan
F-Josh Crawford
F-Carl Richard

Man I just wish we had a good big man. Then we would be pretty damn good..

PG- Jake Kelly (obviously)
G- Harry Marshall (Hopefully a return to his natural position at SG can bring even more production from him)
G- Dwayne Lathan (This guy looks like he has sick talent)
SF/G- Carl Richard (Most likey to breakout on the team)
F/C- Josh Crawford (Has to step up his post play)/ Isaiah Martin (I had high hopes for him but we'll see)

It's gonna be like a 4 guard lineup. You can't really call Richard a forward if you ask me. It's gonna be a fast paced, high octance offense. I've got high hopes for the Sycs this year. 13 days till October 3rd!

This is hard, which is a good thing!

G-Marshall/Kelly
G-Kelly/Lathan
G-Reed/Printy
F-Richard/Carter/Duloney
F-Crawford/Martin/Leitnaker

I really like Lathan, but I think Reed has to start because we need a shooter on the floor.

Small lineup:

G-Marshall
G-Printy
G-Kelly
F-Carter
F-Martin

Big lineup:(not sure we'll ever see this one)

G-Kelly
G-Printy
G/F-Duloney
F-Martin
F-Crawford

7. Odom

Mahurin, Eitels (Redshirt)

We are very deep and I feel comfortable with all 12 guys playing.......... I think Odum is the most ready freshman. I can see him getting minutes this year, but I won't be surprised if all 4 freshmen redshirt.

Kuong is a sleeper...... Defensively, he is a nightmare for our opponents. For those of you at the Big Blue Block Party... Kuong blocked a Carl Richard dunk attempt that was very impressive. He is also extremely long and athletic.

I'm really Iookin forward to watchin Carl Richard.. He is only listed at like 6'5 but he played real aggresive I thought.
I really don't see anything good about Martin..Leitnaker thanks for being tall but he can't play a lick. Hopefully he proves me wrong this year but he was pretty bad last year

I agree with all these statements. Odum is probably our most ready to play true freshman, but I'm not sure if he'll even play. Richard has to improve his consistency shooting but when he gets hot, he's arguably the most dangerous player on the team. If he is having an off day, well then not to worry becuase we have sharpshooter Printy or we have Reed who was a good guard for us last year.

I keep hearing that all 4 Freshman are redshirting and I got to say that I hope they do. I really think Odum and Mahurin will really benefit from sitting out a year and will be good players before its over. Odum looked good in the Block party practice and Mahurin has some major ability. The Eitels could be decent players before its over as well. I think we may be short changing them a little.

4 Guard Line-Up

G - Cole Holmstrom
G - Lamar Lee
G - Eric Gray
G - Marico Stinson
C - Clayton Vette

Key Reserve:
G - John Ashworth (current IUPUI Jaguar)

I was really upset that we lost Vette at the time, but haven't heard from him since. Has he accomplished anything in college?

Hmmm...

So maybe he SHOULD have accepted the offer from THE ISU!

Will he thrive in Div II or he is over-matched?

how about this for a BIG SQUAD

PG-Kelly
SG-Printy/Carter
F-Richard/Dulouny
F-Martin
C-Crawford/Leitnaker

I don't know that they could realistically go with a lineup like that, but we finally wouldn't be out-rebounded.

I don't want to get over-excited but it seems like we have A LOT oF DEPTH.

Where are these guys now? Just wondering.

G - Cole Holmstrom -- ??

G - Lamar Lee -- Detroit Mercy (after 1 year at Highland CC (IL)

G - Eric Gray -- ??

G - Marico Stinson -- Kentucky Wesleyen (good combination; small religious school and ganja pipes...)

C - Clayton Vette -- Winona State (Minn.) Recent Div II success (2 Nat'l Championships since 2006)

My guess...

Kelly - PG
Harry - SG
Lathan - SF
Richard - PF
Leitnaker/Martin - C ...one gets the start over the other depending on the opposition's center...if it's a Stutz, Von Tongeran, Eglesledr (sp?) then Brant...more athletic/quicker posts? Isiah.

First off the bench Reed who'd go in for either Kelly or Harry...Harry would go to PG if Reed came in for Jake. After that it's a free for all coming off the bench...would depend on what position may have foul problems...getting winded...etc. I don't really see anyone getting left out in terms of PT unless they're not giving max effort in practice.
