I haven't seen the kid play obviously but it sounds like he plays a lot like Jake Odum with a much better shot from outside at least. I am really looking forward to watching our guard play the next 4 or 5 years. I mean Odum and Steve could be a pretty good combo, we will see how it plays out. We have had some guys come in here the last several years that didn't pan out - hopefully both play well. I think they will!

McWhorter playing for championship - AGAIN!!!

I don't know specifics, but our future guard has led his team (with something like eight newcomers) to the state championship game again! McWhorter has been the catalyst that has carried St Catherine's this year, and he's proving over and over and over again why KMac is so enthralled with him.

Here's a game article I just found:

Can't wait to see Steve in Sycamore blue!!!

I found this bumbling around on YouTube: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XpDZ0EhAIk"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XpDZ0EhAIk[/ame]

It is a really nice breakdown of St. Cat's during his senior season. The last 1/4 of it is about McWhorter. He is in a black tank with a gold t-shirt underneath throughout...good quicks, quick release, appears to be a good 1 on 1 defender. I think we got ourselves a more polished Harry Marshall (taller as well). Additionally, he seemed to be fairly well spoken, considering this was early in his senior year (originally aired on 12/29/2009).

ANOTHER ITEM OF NOTE: St. Cat's has produced several D-1 players in the recent past, including HAARMSA, formerly at Evansville.

Isn't Haarsma back in Milwaukee now, after drawing a line to the cost-benefit of Marty Simmon's hoop theory(s)? What's left of that team...4 players?
