looks like he'd be a great fit for ISU, so hope we land him, hope he's not one of these guys we spend so much time on, then at the last minute decides he wants to go somewhere else and we've wasted all those resources for not.

Scary to think he's going to wait a while. Too many others can come calling. Doesn't bode well for us I feel. Hope I'm wrong!

Wrong or not doesn't matter, just glass half empty.

We've recruited him the longest and hardest. You don't get prizes in recruiting for second place. Good on him for keeping his options open and waiting to see what is going to be the best choice and fit for him. Not good on a kid who commits (cough Bryant MacIntosh) and then gets a better offer and backs his way out of it - screw that.

At this point in time we have as good of a chance as anyone to get this kid - not sure that him taking more time really decreases our chances any.

Correct. We should all embrace "cautious optimism," but it's not like the future of our program depends on this recruit. We could lose our first two choices and our #3 could turn out to be better.

I agree that optimism is important, so long as the back up plans include a 1a/1b situation and not, "uh oh now what?"

I'm sure we have a long list. The objective is to secure players as close to the top as possible. We're only a few months from signing, so we are less likely to have someone commit and then dump us.

No secret this kid is our #1 priority in 2017. Hopefully the kid appreciates how hard the staff has recruited him and pops Sycamore and then helps recruit his future teammates.

That would be ideal. Getting him on board would be a major feather in the cap for the staff.

I'm guessing he commits when he makes his visit... Just a guess.

Lansing has been all in on this one for a long time now, it will pay off.
