Yep. Another Indiana kid Lansing and staff couldn't close the deal on. Our recruiting sucks!!

Well, you're by yourself, then. Most of us are happy with Key, Neese and Williams. Miami was 8-10 in the #16 conference. Not sure how he would fit in next year with JB, Key, Neese, Williams and Washington. I don't think Coach can be criticized for the group of guards we have now.

I think you are right! It will be interesting to see how our guards will be regarded at this time next year.

Let me clarify if I may be allowed. Our ability to recruit INDIANA kids sucks. Indiana kids see and hear too much about our coach and losing program. I would like to see this negative aspect go away.

Looking at who we have, and then thinking about what I saw in Sibande's game when I saw him in high school, not sure I would trade anyone in our back court for him. I certainly would not trade Key or Neese for him, and those are two guys who came in on the scholarships that we would have given to Sibande. JB was already here (and I would not trade him for Sibande) and Washington is coming in the year behind.

Remember the MAC is not as strong as the MVC and at Miami he was given a lot more freedom and opportunity than what he would have had here. I feel strongly that he would not have been FOY in the MVC. I could be wrong though, so feel free to disagree.

Ha! I don't have to worry about that. His eye for talent is unquestioned at this point. I think he's got a long track record of recruiting sucess stories and I count the ones that didn't end up in our favor a sucess story - identify enough of the right kids you're going to have some decent recruiting classes.

Some other things can be debated - his recruiting / assistants recruiting / team effort is something I've usually been pleased with.

Another kid that Lansing was in on early that turned out to be pretty darn good.
Lansing gets a ++ for identifying talent. Lots of kids that we were on early and planned out great for us and then you have the handful that we were on real early only to lose out in the 11 hour to some bigger programs.
Whenever I see us offer a relatively young or unknown talent, I always get a little excited because we have a great history of finding that player that is still a little green.
